The CB Issue, Continued...

Stay connected for news and updates

So, Ozzie is on the move, somewhat, with regards to improving our CB depth so that we may not have to suffer through any more illegal contact/mugging activity from the beloved Frank Walker.

Travis Fisher, 30, is a journeyman and former 2nd round pick by the St. Louis Rams who has been invited to the Castle for a tryout.  For the Rod Marinelli Lions he was a nickel (decent size at 5'10" and 189 lbs.), but we all know how effective that defense was.  His last team was the Seahawks, who cut him in November.  Color me exhillerated.

My take on the situation currently is that Ozzie is going to handle this year's CB situation in much the same way he handled last year's WR situation--by grabbing a Kelley Washington-type of player who feels lucky to have a jersey but won't be a game-changer.  Actually, let me slow down here...  Can this guy even make the team?  For all I know he's just a known quantity that Ozzie wants to measure KJ Gerard against.

In any event, I am somewhat reassured by the appearance of activity on the part of our front office with regards to the cornerback situation--also known as the Why-Is-Frank-Walker-Still-A-Raven situation.  But with all of the aging-but-decent CB options that we had a few weeks ago, I doubt we're going to see many Ravens fans jumping for joy if we do end up taking on Travis Fisher.
