Bad News Crab Heads
I'm taking ESPN's word here, but it looks like the ravens might not be getting their late x-mas gift from the Ocmulgee Judicial circuit District Attorney Fred Bright
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will not be charged after an investigation into accusations of sexual assault by a 20-year-old woman in Georgia, sources told ESPN. Sources confirmed to ESPN's Kelly Naqi that District Attorney Fred Bright will announce on Monday that charges will not be brought against Roethlisberger.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5071769
I'm just soaking in these words and I wanted to share them with the world!
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will not be charged
Now I'll feel better once I hear it from the DA. I'm only posting this now because I'm drunk and happy!
The opinions posted here are those of the administrator of this blog and his loyal readers. They are in no way official comments from the team, and should not be misconstued as such, even though he thinks he could do just as well or even a better job!

Yeah I know. If I was a $100 million two-time Superbowl winning quarterback I wouldn’t ever want to go out and get laid by hot young chicks. Especially on my birthday.
Everyone who judges #7 needs to look at their own lives first.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
everyone likes to go out and get laid.
i live in brazil right now. so yeah. but i’ve never been accused of sexual assault, and not twice in the same year.
I’m not judging the guy personally, because both of these claims may be totally bogus, but i’m questioning his judgement that he’s in these situations. Did you see the club he was at in nowhere-ville GA? damn man step your game up

Wow, really? Are the Brazilian ladies the most beautiful in the world as I’ve heard? Isn’t it the plastic surgery “capital” of the world as well?

by Bruce Raffel on Apr 10, 2010 9:43 AM EDT up reply actions
yes.
if there is a lot of plastic surgery, its not in the Northeast where I am. Unfortunately, there is a lot of sex-change. just beware of deep voices. ive never run into it myself but ive heard some stories.
girls are amazing here. i didnt believe the hype until my first time down in 2006, but once you see it youll be a believer. Rio is amazing, but the chicks there really like status and money and such. here in the NE, girls dont need so much of that show-off type of stuff so a real dude such as myself can get away with saying “i have no job and im not looking for a relationship” and still get results! HAHAHAHA so having said that I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR BEN ROETHLISBERGER because if I DID have 100 mil I wouldn’t need to risk my own freedom in order to get laid!!!!

You also most likely don’t have $100 million dollars!
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
nowhere close to 100 mil
so what are you saying? if i had 100 mil I would be constantly on the news for alleged sexual misconduct?
"Just win baby. Yeah, I stole that."

don't play stupid
it would make it a lot more likely. I’ll argue more vociferously after a successful press conference tomorrow.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
more likely, sure
but theres a ton of multi-millionare superstar athlete playboys who have never been accused of what ben was accused of twice in a year.
let me be frank: I’ll be happy whenever this situation just ends to we can stop talking about it. If he really has a problem with his sexual conduct, then this won’t end here. If this is all much-ado-about-nothing, then this will probably fade into the background and Ben will keep a lower profile in the future.
what is more important is that Flacco is going into his third year and finally has a good receiving corps. we are excited to end Ben’s streak against us.
"Just win baby. Yeah, I stole that."
--Jon Gruden
let me be frank
After that news conference, I wish I didn’t post this thread. The whole situation is nothing to brag about. I hate all ravens, but what is there to really hate about flacco? He is a good athlete, he keeps his mouth shut (like Ben used to) and if he ever gets his mind right he could be devastating.
I’ve joked about Flacco being a virgin before, but, to be frank again, I’d take that over our mess right now.
This sucks hairy, sweaty donkey balls.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
"The only question is… why do you think this appropriate to post on a Ravens blog?"
So you think this story isn’t relevant to the ravens? They haven’t beaten a #7 led Steelers team since 2006.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
This isn’t relevant to the Ravens. It’s relevant to one of their opponents.
We’re not interested in having posts about the Steelers on our blog. You can comment however you want, but please post Steeler news on BTSC. We don’t post news about our players on your site. We’re only asking for the same courtesy… drunk or not.

You are the one trying to tell me what to do on Rexx’s site. I personally don’t care about what you want. If you don’t like it, don’t come back to this thread. I’ve read a lot of posts by a lot of people in the last month and now it’s my turn to type.
And the drunk comment from me wasn’t an excuse for making the post, it was for going with ESPN’s source instead of with the press conference on Monday. It was risky and there’s a chance I’ll have to eat my words.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."

Ben will always be a sex addict, rapist in my book. He hand cuffed that McNulty chick to the bed and shoved his lucky jock strap in her mouth. And at the night club, that chick was just too embarrassed to admit that she got nailed in a bathroom stall where it says call Tyrone for a good time.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
"Ben will always be a sex addict, rapist in my book"
that’s fine, but you know what the reverse is of that and how much it hurts. When people are accused and not found guilty of a crime, people should drop it. If this report is true, the reason there wasn’t enough evidence of a crime is probably because there was no crime.
I don’t recall ever saying ray ray was a murderer, but I’m sure you’ve heard it plenty of times, and it sucks. I’ll call the ravens thugs for their on-field behavior, there’s no disputing that, but I don’t think they’re a bunch of “criminals.” Stallworth got totally screwed and anyone who calls him a murder simply wasn’t paying attention.
The bottom line is people love to judge. Everyone love to say how a team has no class and is all thugs because it’s easy and it makes you feel better about all the ass kickings and Superbowl championships. But these same people are wife beaters, insurance scammers, cheaters, thieves, liars; no one is perfect. Everyone sins.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
Can't disagree w/ your point, but...
…his issue is, once again, a repeat offender regardless of getting charged. His issue is not so much the so-called “alledged” crime, but the 2nd time he’s put himself into that similar position, which is a problem that the team and don’t overlook Goodell’s long arm of the law coming down on Ben.

the NFL.com report doesn’t jump on that, yet. the DA will hold his official press conf. on monday, then we’ll know the deal.
Just for the record, we’re perfectly happy to play the steelers with Ben this year. We have Q now, and with Flacco in his 3rd season you can expect a very formidable opponent in Baltimore.
"Just win baby. Yeah, I stole that."
--Jon Gruden
The DA is not who Ben needs to worry about
It’s that guy up in NYC named Goodell who will hand down his own punishment regardless of what the DA says down in Georgia. Remember that clause, “inappropriate behavior for the NFL” that could still result in a fine, suspension or gasp, both!?
What was that Samuel L. Jackson said in Pulp Fiction about
“I am the Lord and I shall…”
aka 'Rexx'
If all charges are dropped, which they will be,
Goodell will not be handing down anything to Big Ben this year except the Lombardi trophy.
Not true at all
Goodell does not rely on the police decision to make his. He might very well determine Ben’s repeat behavior is not in the best interests of the league and hand down a suspension regardless of the criminal status.

Legal, yeah, but cheap nonethe less. Problem w/ Hines is that he’d never do that if the defender was ready for it. BREAKING NEWS
YOU JUST LOST YOUR BEST OFFENSIVE WEAPON!
There is some bad news for you buddy.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
eh I don't know if he was our best weapon
but I know he was worth more than a 5th rounder to the Jets! That sucks. Why not just give him to the ravens for a case of old bay? Oh well, we still have a better receiver core than you guys.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
Oh puhlease
He put up the most catches, yards and TDs for you guys. Wallace is good, but Holmes was better then him and Ward.
Oh well, we still have a better receiver core than you guys.
ERRRRR!!! Wrong! I’d take Boldin, Mason, Stallworth over Ward, Wallace, Sweed/Randle-El anyday, and I am 100% sure that the rest of the fans outside of Pittsburgh would certainly agree with me.
While you guys keep getting worse during the off season, we are getting better. Ravens are definitely the favorite to win the division right now. Don’t deny it bub.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
Having both Holmes and Wallace extended Hines career
Now let’s see how well he does w/o the host of talent around him. Uh oh, here comes Limas (butterfingers) Sweed and Antwan (haven’t caught a pass in 3 years) Randle-El and Arnaz (who?) Battle! Wow, talk about a great receiving corps!
aka 'Rexx'
by Bruce Raffel on Apr 12, 2010 9:33 AM EDT up reply actions
Not to mention… It was really easy for Wallace to get open as the second/third reciever. Let’s see how he does facing defenses as the number one receiver. He’s a horrible route runner but has the physical tools. I think that he’ll be good in the long run, but to say that the Steelers won’t see a drop-off or miss Holmes is flat-out ignorant.
You're off base
1. I don’t care what any human being says about which receiver core is better. In my opinion, the Steelers have a better group. The raven’s WR’s of note consist of a) an old man who could still make plays last year but is very tired, b) a young, tough, troubled receiver in his prime, and c) a journeyman who has been out of the game for over a year. And clayton too I guess, big whoop about him. And they all still have the unibrow throwing it to them.
2. I don’t care who anyone thinks is a favorite to win the division right now. Remember how excited you got when the ravens were 3-0 early last year? Then later when your team tanked and you had to take a break from the board for a few weeks? All of that nonsense can be avoided if you just calm down and let the games be played. You should know from living near DC that Lombardi’s are awarded in January, not April.
3. And just to completely refute your point with facts, Ward had more receptions and TDs than Holmes did last year.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/pit/stats
I don’t want to down play it, losing Holmes is devastating. I had his jersey. I loved how he smoked pot (but the consequences in the NFL suck, it’s none of their business IMO). Hell, he’s still in my avatar! Smoking weed! But he made the decisions that led to him being traded. He wants to be a #1 receiver in a big market team and be a big superstar. Instead of just being a rich Superbowl Champion and MVP and a good team mate. Have fun being a star. Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out!
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
Who is the young, troubled WR in his prime?
Do you mean Boldin? Why troubled? If Mason is the old guy you’re talking about, I guess 80 receptions for 1000 yards every year is old, then I’ll settle for old. Am I missing something because we went deep into the playoffs but you didn’t even make the dance and you’re ragging on us? Besides, Holmes wasn’t traded for smoking weed, which I agree is no big deal. He was traded because he threw a glass at a lady, which is a pussy thing to do, and the Steelers were using him as a message to Ben, saying “watch out or you;re next!”
aka 'Rexx'
by Bruce Raffel on Apr 12, 2010 7:49 PM EDT up reply actions
I disagree with you on many points
1. So you think once you pay Boldin he’ll shut up? See how that works out.
2. Mason almost retired and had to be cajoled back to the team. I am surprised he hasn’t tried to retire again yet.
“Am I missing something because we went deep into the playoffs but you didn’t even make the dance and you’re ragging on us? "
Honestly, serious, you, Bruce, the most sensible person in here, are gonna brag about having THE SAME RECORD as the Steelers and splitting the season series? Come on, you’re smarter than that. I acknowledge what you guys did to the Pats, and I am very jealous we didn’t get that opportunity ourselves, but come on. Don’t brag about having the same record. I swear I wouldn’t do that if the shoe was on the other foot.
4. ‘Tone was not traded for throwing a glass, and I won’t go into defending him now because he’s someone else’s problem. He traded for LYING. He was suspended by the Steelers last year for smoking pot. I’m sure he promised Tomlin he would stop. Then he tweets about it and tests positive. Caught red handed in a lie. Bye bye. I’m sure his agent instructed him to do all this so he can get closer to his big market payday. Like I said, Tone, I’ll never forget what you did in 2008 playoffs, but don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out!
Geeze, pretty much everything you said was nonsense. Sorry, not trying to be rude, but that’s weird.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
He was yaw best offensive weapon next Ben
I guess maybe Limas Sweed couldve caught the Super Bowl winning catch against the Cardinals. Yaw will miss him, he caught over 1200 last year. This is big news for the ravens brown and bengals. Bad move for the steelers.
And this thread is actually about Big Ben not being charged, which is now official

"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
This is bigger than him simply being a football player. It’s amazing what a good lawyer and agents can do for you.
Apparently, the woman was bleeding from the genital area directly after the incident, but the DA didn’t find enough male DNA to pursue action further. I’m sure this was after several rounds with Roethlisberger’s lawyers. Let’s also not forget the mysterious destruction of the video evidence. I’m not a conspericy theorist, but when you throw in Ben’s history, the destroyed tapes and the woman bleeding from her private parts, it’s hard not to imagine what happened. It’s just sad that people who have money can get away with this kind of thing.
I use to respect Roethlisberger for the way he played the game. After this, I have absolutely no respect for him. He’s a trash human being.
yeah
If I knew all of that I wouldn’t have posted this on Friday night. There is still room for doubt though. Hell I’ve torn it up a few times in perfectly consensual settings.
This is all very demoralizing to me BTW. The DA really didn’t do us any favors yesterday with his judgmental comments and judicious release of information.
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
and he is lacking his main weapon, gone to the Jets. Without Holmes when yaw play us Ed Reed will be shadowing Wallace and will make it alot easier to defend the pass.
