With the 57th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select....
......Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama! This is the pick we all wanted and together with Haloti Ngata we now have the most formidable middle in the trenches in the entire NFL!
The pick was in very quickly, so it appears that the Ravens were waiting for this guy and not looking to trade it.

Showed this photo to Ravens PR Director Kevin Byrne
telling him that’s 700 pounds of beef. He said, “That’s the 700 Club.” I said you’d better pray when facing them!"

Dude, the Pouncey pick is pretty much worthless right now. Not ever a brick wall could block Cody and Ngata together. Ben and Mendenfall are screwed.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
How amazing is this bud? For months you and me lobbied for Cody as our first round pick. And we get him at 57? Incredible. It is a thing of beauty.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
It is indeed
Ozzie is a God, he made us happy with great players, and got a 3rd and 4th pick

Yea, I am saying screw Dez right now. Much rather have this draft.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
True that
Dez’s ego will go through the roof playing for Dallas, he will be the next Adam Jones.

Great Pick
I never thought that Cody would still be available after 56 picks. Happy that he’s now a Raven. Keep it going, Oz.
Just finished conference call interview w/ Mt. Cody
and will post story on this as well as Kindle’s interview at some point tonight or Saturday am. I asked him about Haloti Ngata and most of the other’s questions were about his weight, which he says is at 350 right now.
He reminds me of Biggie, talking slow and in deep breaths.

Damn, Seahawks are having one hell of a draft. Okung, Thomas, Tate. That is some elite talent.

Since when does Ozzie work for th Seahawks?

Ok, so here is the update on what we got for our first round pick so far.
Anquan Boldin, Sergio Kindle, moved up in the 3rd and 4th, and a 5th round pick. Then we add Cody. Screw Dez Bryant!

Kindle is going to be a QB sniper for the Ravens.
Suggs is a more complete OLB, but Kindle is a better pass rusher.

Gotta admit
that no matter who we might have taken in the first round, Kindle, Cody and we still get a 3rd and 4th will end up a better draft group with those four picks than just two of them.
aka 'Rexx'
This is just amazing to me. We always talk about Ozzie being a genius, but when he traded out of the first, I must say that I had my doubts. I should have known better. If they had drafted Cody at 43, we wouldn’t have gotten Kindle. Ozzie was smart and waited and got two first-round players in the second.
I can’t say enough about how smart that was.
Jet’s did great with Wilson and Decasse

Once a player is drafted by the Ravens
They give us a big two-sided sheet of paper with their complete bio. On Cody’s it says he didn’t allow a 100 yard rusher in his career and the LONGEST rush against him when he was on the field in his ENTIRE career was SIX yards! SIX YARDS!!!! I can’t wait to see him line up next to Haloti and Ray has his Sam Adams/Goose combo once again!

Whgat about the TE group?
Still have Anthony McCoy, Jimmy Graham, Dorin Dickerson, Tony Moaki and Aaron Hernandez! Is this where we go with the next pick, or is it for someone like the CB from WF, Ghee, who might be a big corner to grab.
aka 'Rexx'
by Bruce Raffel on Apr 23, 2010 8:30 PM EDT up reply actions
It's Athony McCoy or Dickerson at TE
Ghee would be okay. He’s more Cover2 coner than press man but I do like his size.

- Dedicated Raven since 2003 -
Ricky Sapp or Brandon Ghee

I like Ghee as well
bigger corner, around 6’ tall. Also like me a TE, as we could have our pick of a bunch of good ones at the #70 pick.

I think offense's turn
Ed Dickson? Brandon Lafell or Eric Decker?

I think we might have a pretty good defense

Nah, need corner more than one more WR
but after we grab a corner and a TE, then a WR, such as the sleeper from Syracuse, Mike Williams would be good, very good.

form NFP
Dickson is a tall, lean, good-looking athlete who possesses an explosive element to his game. He needs to do a better job slipping the bump and cleanly getting into his routes when his hand is on the line, but when standing up off the line, he exhibits an explosive first step and gets into his routes quickly. He has an ability to consistently threaten the seam and showcases an impressive burst in and out of his breaks. He has good body control as a route runner and is doing a much better job this season setting up his routes and changing gears. Dickson looks a lot more balanced in the pass game and isn’t trying to do everything at full speed.
He does a nice job using his length to pluck the ball away from his frame and has the toughness to take a hit over the middle and hang on to the ball. He showcases a toughness after the catch and isn’t afraid to take on would-be tackles and fight for additional yards. He isn’t overly physical at the point of attack and doesn’t block with much leverage, but he does a nice job extending his long arms on contact and the athletic ability to stay in front of his man. Dickson showcases good effort blocking downfield and has the ability to consistently reach and seal defenders at the second level. He has the makings of a guy who can create mismatches in the pass game and create plays downfield.

I love JJ! Remember Kindle is a pass rush specialist – at least for now. Still going to need JJ as your run LB.
"What we've got here is failure to communicate."
So Oregon fans want to post over here to let you know about what you just got
unfortunately they have to wait a day. I already waited :) Since I know you love Ngata from Oregon, I can tell you right now you’re going to love Ed Dickson. The stats don’t tell the story on this kid. Congrats guys.
P.S. I’m a Steelers fan and I’m pissed you guys just got another great Oregon product
Most inexplicably NOT Clark Kellogg?
Addicted to Quack
Thanks Duck
Oregon has an underrated program. I agree the fans here will soon love Dickson. He has good size, great hands and nice speed. Only his blocking is lacking. He will contribute right away.
"What we've got here is failure to communicate."
His blocking is better than average. He’ll do fine blocking, but he’s going to provide a huge target for Uni-brow (can’t resist) to throw to. Heap is good, but Dickson’s speed is so much better.
Most inexplicably NOT Clark Kellogg?

The AFC North all got a lot better
Yes, even Cleveland. I predict they will not end up in 5th place in the North. Oh wait, there’s only 4 teams?
