I think I will laugh forever
The future is not what it used to be.
What the media did not tell you.

that wont happen
the steelers will have no offense at all that week

Speaking of lauging forever...
The Steelers TRADED a 7th round pick for the human statue Byron Leftwich.
i wouldve thought that Dixon wouldve got the nod. Anyone thought its funny how both our backups have the same qualities

I like how the league knew Ben would be suspended and put all 5 of their primetime games in the last ten games of the season.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
I keep seeing that its conditional
meaning that he could be suspended for less than 4 weeks if certain stipulations are met, which I’m sure they will be. So, looks like it is likely that Ben will play in week 4 when the Ravens roll over the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
They say the empty can rattles the most...
4-6 weeks.
It’s a six week suspension that can be shortened to a four week suspension. He won’t play against the Ravens.
Steelers to go 2-2 if
Ben is suspended 4 games and 3-3 if six. Not too shabby if they can turn it around after he returns, which I doubt they will make th epost season after that turmoil.

Leftwich better bring his A-game
If they lose majority of those games that could cost them the season. Asking for Ben and those guys to win out is alot to ask for.
Would they really start Leftwich over Dixon?
I wouldn’t mind it for our sake but I think Dixon clearly would give them the best shot. Anyone think differently? To me its not even close.
Dixon > Leftwich
What do es this mean
for Charlie Batch?

Im glad that we kno who we play cuz that means we can prep for Dixon speed. Probably will use Troy Smith on the scout team
Hope you don't mind, Dan
That I updated the post of yours, as soon as I got the breaking news. Ouch for Ben and Steelers.

If Ben does sit out those 6 games, I still get a bad feeling that they will find a way to go 4-2. Other teams always make the dumbest mistakes to let the Steelers win the game.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
i can see them going to 2-3. I got them losing to atlanta, tenn, and ravens. they play the bucs and cleveland and they have a bye.

According to the terms
the Commish has the right to lower it to four games if he complies (which I’m sure he will) or extend it if he doesn’t (doubtful). Therefore, I believe he will get back after four. Either way he misses the Ravens game though.

Leftwich
was probably brought in as the 3rd stringer, since they could have to play half the season with Ben suspended, better to go into the season with 3 other QB’s. Leftwich will not know the system as well as Dixon and Batch, so I am guessing they will start one of those 2.
Raven_all_day: It is a six GAME suspension, not a six WEEK suspension, so he will also be sitting the Miami game if the suspension isn’t reduced. I see them at best at 3-3, but more likely 2-4 or 1-5. They lost to some real doormat teams last year WITH Ben, including @KC, Oak, @Cle, and @Chi, so the only real gimmee out of their first 6 games is TB and Cle, and Cle beat them last year, and TB beat GB and NO in the 2nd half of last season.
I think the penalty is a little harsh, mainly because he was never charged with anything, so I have to assume that there is things we do not know about that Goodell does know about.
However, after reading the article on ESPN, it seems part of Goodell’s rationalization was Ben’s past reckless behavior, and the purchasing of drinks for underage students.
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback also was ordered to undergo a comprehensive behavioral evaluation. Commissioner Roger Goodell will evaluate Roethlisberger’s progress before the season and might consider reducing the suspension to four games.
However, a failure to comply with the NFL’s ruling might lead to a longer suspension.
Roethlisberger is barred from attending any Steelers offseason activity after Wednesday until he completes the evaluation. He can participate in training camp and preseason games this summer as long as he is cleared by the evaluators and Goodell.
“The Personal Conduct Policy makes clear that I may impose discipline ‘even where the conduct does not result in conviction of a crime’ as, for example, where the conduct ‘imposes inherent danger to the safety and well being of another person’,” Goodell stated in his letter to Roethlisberger.
“As the District Attorney concluded, the extensive investigatory record shows that you contributed to the irresponsible consumption of alcohol by purchasing (or facilitating the purchase of) alcoholic beverages for underage college students, at least some of whom were likely already intoxicated. There is no question that the excessive consumption of alcohol that evening put the students and yourself at risk. The Personal Conduct Policy also states that discipline is appropriate for conduct that ‘undermines or puts at risk the integrity and reputation of the NFL, NFL clubs, or NFL players.’ By any measure, your conduct satisfies that standard.”
And for those of you assuming he will end up with just 4 games, it is not fully under his control. He needs to make progress with a shrink, and they were hypothesizing on the radio that he has major mommy issues due to the fact that his mother died coming to pick him up from his fathers house after they divorced.
Here is an article about that: http://www.denverpost.com/commented/ci_14906551?source=commented-
The writer is a well know psychologist and writer with books on children dealing with death, and dealing with divorce.
There is also the possibility the suspension could be extended if he has not mad progress. So don’t count him in for week 5 until we see how he does with his evaluation
If Vick's suspension was reduced from 6 to 2 games,
I think it’s rational to think Ben will “earn” a two game reprieve.

I mean the shrink quoted in the article is a well know psychologist and writer with books on children dealing with death, and dealing with divorce.
this is just fantastic
they’ll be lucky to finish 3rd again this year.
