Beatdown Daily

Beatdown_daily_medium

Alright, so it's been a couple of days since my last Beatdown Daily, but that is only because of a dry news weekend. A couple of things have happened since Friday and a lot of it is Steelers-flavored. But I digress. Here is the next installment in Beatdown Daily!

Free Agency:

-Steelers sign Antwaan Randle El.

-Steelers sign Ryan Clark (who was shunned with open arms after saying Miami was a "perfect fit")

-Jaguars sign Aaron Kampman

-Jason Avant signs five year extension with Eagles (I wanted him....)

-Eagles trade Reggie Brown to Buccaneers for a sixth round pick.

-Raiders release Javon Walker

-Ditto with Greg Ellis

-Browns trade for QB Senaca Wallace

-T.O. (Team Obliterater) and Antonio Bryant to visit Bengals this week.

Draft News:

-Tebow works out for Bills, Seahawks this week.

Joke of the Day:

Ben Roethlisberger uses the same lawyer Ray Lewis used in the 2001 trial to help get him off of the hook for his rape accusations.

So much for Troy Smith going to Cleveland
Cleveland gave up an undisclosed 2011 undisclosed – what has to be a late-round pick – for QB Seneca Wallace.

You have to hate losing more than you love winning.

I would rather have Troy than Wallace if I was them.

The only thing I can see is..

Holmgren worked with Seneca for several years, but how far will that take them…..?

I think the TO cancer talk

is blown out of proportion. It showed in Buffalo, when the media was trying to bait him into saying something and he wouldn’t bite. He gained my respect playing in the Super Bowl a month after breaking his leg, and being a factor in the game as well. I would love for him to be in Cincinnati, and I don’t think the fact of him being a “cancer” should be a reason not to sign him.

I once defended the managerial styles of Jerry Narron after a Reds loss in a bar after a long night of drinking. I wish I could say that I don't remember doing that.

TO is fine as long

as he gets the ball enough to keep him happy. Once the team starts losing and his stats are down, he complains it’s because the ball is not coming to him, and then it all unravels from there. Happens everywhere he goes and will at some point every time.
