Justin Bannan Signs With Broncos
Justin Bannan, who played defensvie tackle with the Baltimore Ravens for the past four years, signed a five-year contract with the Denver Broncos yesterday. The signing of the free agent gives the Ravens an opportunity to sign a different free agent out there on the market as part of the rules that bound the team as one of the "Final Eight" playoff teams, restricting their free agent sign capabilities. The Ravens still have Haloti Ngata and Kelly Gregg as defensive tackles and a few other reserves, but should look around the league and April's draft for additional depth at the position.

That’s good for us. I think there are some FA’s out there who an add a lot to our team.

Rumor has it that Dwan Edwards is working out for Seattle today as well.

Damn, that stinks
The coaches really, really like Dwan. There is a reason we kept around the former 2nd round pick for so long. I thought he was just coming around to his own. Be good for him to play under a coach like Pete Carroll though. We have some good depth at DT anyway and would address it in the draft.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
Good for Bannan
He deserves a big contract like that. He has been a great back-up for us and so many people fail to realize just how well he played in 2008 when Gregg went down. He should help their D-Line very much.

Re: Good for Bannan
I hope he gets a big contract as well. I love players like Bannan because of their work ethic and tenacity. Also, wouldn’t that allow us to sign an UFA of equal value?

I will miss
his toughness, versatility, and work ethic. He was a big part of what makes this team great.

I actually liked him more than Kelly Gregg
and thought he could be a star on most other teams. Now I guess we’ll find out.

Ok
Bannan, much like Gregg, will do whatever is asked of him. He is ridiculously versatile. He will just fill his hole, but will more than likely fly under the radar like he did with us. He is probably one of the toughest guys in the game. He’s not very fast, but is overpowering and will consistently get into the backfield and rarely misses tackles. I am just someone who watches games and pays attention, but if I were a Bronco fan I would be very glad to have Bannan on my team.

What's up j-man?
I expect Bannan to fill the hole inside at DT, where he is best suited. He really doesn’t have the speed to rush the QB from the outside and probably will still come out on obvious passing downs anyway.

I just hope we get a DE so we can keep Ngata at tackle. As athletic as he is, his best position is tackle and did not like the move of putting him at end.
I don't know
I might like him at end if we could get Terrance Cody. Man that dude is literally the size of Goose and Sam Adams put together.
