DB's Burning Up Combine 40-Yard Dash
The defensive backs are currently running the 40 yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine today and they are proving that they are by far the fastest group of all here in Indianapolis. At the top of the list is USC safety Taylor Mays, who ran an unofficial 4.24, tying the all-time best of Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson two years ago. Mays' second run was clocked unofficially at 4.34, decidedly different from the blazing first run, but still real, real fast, especially for a safety.
The simulcast runs of Taylor Mays versus Clemson's Jacoby Ford (4.28) showed Ford winning by at least a yard or so. Just announced was that Mays' official time was actually 4.43 seconds, a huge difference from the unofficial hand-held clocking that had a lot of eyes wide open. That keeps the Combine record with the Titans' Johnson - for now.
Conversely, Florida CB Joe Haden (local product from Friendly High School in Maryland) ran a 4.57 forty in his first attempt and followed that up with an even slower 4.60 on his second run, surprisingly slow for someone largely considered the top defensive back in the draft class.

Haden
What are the chances that we could trade up for him now? And what would we have to throw in to do so?
We won't trade up for him
His 40 time isn’t going to drop him out of the top 12. We would have to give up our first and third probably to do that. Just don’t see Ozzie doing that. We can get good CB help in other parts of the draft.

Thanks
Just checking to see what you think it would take to move up high enough for him. I still know exactly what I want first three rounds then. (Dunlap, Dezmon Briscoe/ Kyle Wilson depending on which one would last till the third round)

Yea that would be an ideal draft
Gotta see what we do in free agency first with WR. Waiting till the third round might not be smart. But if this off season plays out the way we want it to, dunlap, Wilson and any WR in the 2nd or 3rd would be great. People are saying Dunlap is dropping to possibly the 2nd round or late first. Great news for us.

Kyle Wilson was a bench pressing beast!
Putting up 25 reps for a guy who is only 5’10" and 194 pounds. I wonder in compariso what L. Webb did last year, if he even was at the Combine.

Rich Eisen
ran his all-time best (in his suit) with a 6.2 seconds 40-yard dash, slightly better than last year’s version. Then they showed a bunch of simultaneous comparisons with Jacoby Ford, other “slower” players and even an NFL Network aide, all who blew Eisen away.
Hilarious!

Mike Duffy of BaltimoreRavens.com ran a 5.6 in shorts. It was great seeing that caus he is so goofy, but still love him. I want to see Deon vs Darrele Green right now. Those are the two fastest players the NFL has ever seen. Be sweet to have them race at this age.

NFL Network
showed a simultaneous run of three guys, Jacoby Ford, Taylor Mays and Trindon Holliday. Funny thing is that Mays finished behind Ford, but well ahead of Holliday, but yet Holliday ran an offical 4.34 while Mays’ official time was 4.43.
Something is wrong somewhere with this.

Oh man, I just watched the Rich Eisen 40 yard dash
That is way too funny. They give him a 5 yard head start against Jacoby Ford and he still destroys him. What is even worse, they give him a 5 yard head start against Terrance Cody, and Cody still beats him.

The entire story was great
about Eisen, from the leadup to UnderArmour giving him his own custom Combine Workout shoes to warming up to the repeated comparisons to the other players with accompanying videos. Great fun.

Senior Analyst for NFL.com, Pat Kirwan has the Ravens taking Dez Bryant in the first round.
25. Baltimore Ravens
Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State
A talented receiver with some baggage, though. The Ravens locker room could take care of Bryant, and this team needs a playmaker for QB Joe Flacco.
Not too sure how it is possible he falls that far, but this guy knows his stuff. Be amazing to get him that late.

Personally, I think he's over rated
but if we ended up with a Michael Crabtree-type, that would sit well with the fans in Baltimore. I’d still rather find a good WR in FA then draft a pure pass rusher in the first round and then fill out our corner and tight end needs in the next two and then go back to find a decent sized wideout.

Can you imagine if a team signs Gaither, we get their 1st and 3rd picks, trade those for Marshall, draft Bryant with our other 1st, resign Mason.
The line up goes, Marshall, Mason, Bryant, Stallworth. Ok, getting a little too excited but it IS very possible.

Not enough balls to go around that group
I’d settle for Marshall or Boldin, re-sign Mase and those two plus Stallworth and a late round WR sounds like a plan. Then go out and get a DE and a corner and plan to be in Dallas come early February.
