Now, I know this is offtopic, but one of the mods here told me I could come here whenever I want and post because I was not snobbish about my last link. Anyway, I just wanted to know what you guys think of this year's march madness field? As a Heels fan, I have to admit it's a little tough for me. Anyway, here are my picks for every game in the dance. You will notice there is no analysis there, but not to worry because I made another post with my musings on the bracket here. Please read it and leave feedback. I really do appreciate the feedback.

Maryland to elite 8 over Kansas

Is your purpose here to antagonize?
You post a question and then try to mock the guys who answer? Let people have their opinions without telling them “they’re dumb.” That is why most other sites have banned you and you’ll get banned here as well if you continue this way.
I think the Teprs will beat Houston and then Michigan State as well, but fall to Kansas. The Spartans made the Final Four last year but lost too many players to be confised with that same team and the Terps are built for the Tourney. However, Kansas, regardless of how tough this Regional is, is by far the best team in the country and should win it all.
Does that make me stupid as well (be very careful how you answer this)?

I got Maryland Losing to Kansas
My final 4 are Kansas, Syracuse, Villanova, and West Virginia with a Kansas championship over WVU. I may be a little biased as I go to West Virginia… But they can do it judging by the way they play but I do have Maryland losing to Kansas but definitely beating MSU
So wow we have almost the same bracket haha
Besides Maryland and a couple other upsets we’ve got practically the same bracket with the same championship and outcome.

I am actually offended by this
Maryland has no shot whatsoever of making the Final Four. I have Michigan State knocking them off in the second round, for what it’s worth. It’s simple. Maryland has one player. His name is Greivis Vasquez. This just isn’t enough to win in March.
You think you know so much about college bball when in reality you know nothing about my team. Not one single thing and are basing your numbers off stats. How many games have you watched this year and seen us put up 80+ points without having one player more than 19 points? Huh, how many of those team games have you watched. None.
And even though I hate Duke with all my heart, how can you say that Syracuse deserves the #3 overall seed over Duke? Duke won their conference championship while Cuse got knocked out in their first game.
I am starting to question how much you know about college basketball.

So obviously I watch a lot of Maryland’s games. It is my opinion that if Vasquez is off, it is very tough for them to win, and that is true.
Furthermore, the ACC was horrible this year. Duke tied for the conference title with a team that’s a borderline top 25 team. They then played the easiest ACC conference tournament road I’ve EVER seen (Virginia, Miami, Georgia Tech) meanwhile Syracuse won the best conference in basketball by a couple games and then lost in the conference tournament to a top 15 Georgetown team, the same Georgetown team that absolutely demolished Duke. Furthermore, I think West Virginia should have gotten the 4th 1 seed and Duke should have gotten a 2.

Clearly you know nothing about Maryland basketball.
You say we won’t get past Michigan State? Why? Form some sort of logical point besides “all you have is Vasquez”. Yes he is on the team and has eaten up good defenders all year. The chances of a team who have not faced him this year shutting him down are not high. Additionally, the chances Vasquez has a good game are much more likely than him having a bad game. Anyway, lets compare Maryland and MSU.

The only weakness Maryland has to MSU, is rebounding. All they need to do is shoot efficiently (which they are very, very good at) and limit MSU’s second chance opportunities.

The eye test? What, so you don’t like the way Greivis face looks? Who cares about the eye test, that is a personal, personal and personal opinion that does not show why you think MD is not good. Sure if you take Greivis out of the game, we aren’t gonna be as good. But you saw when Ken Lucas went down this year MSU was playing pretty poorly.

Exactly. We don’t have the best 3 point shooter in the ACC or one of the best Freshman in the nation. That Mosley guy sucks to.

When I look at them with my eyes, they don’t look like they can play basketball. I generally use this same test, except it failed me on players like Redick, Hansbrough, Adam Morrison, Stephan Curry, Andrew Bogut, etc, etc, etc

Trust this kid Johnny, he has his own TV show, so he must know everything about Maryland. We stand no chance against MSU. I will be very surprised if we can come out of the game on Friday against Houston winning by 2.

there is one reason Izzo sucks.
He coaches at MSU. Seriously, anyone with an ounce of talent would leave that piece of trash school as soon as they could, he sticks around because he couldn’t cut it anywhere else.

Coach K
Is not that great of a tourney coach. He is a great regular season coach, as evidenced by this years solid but not amazing roster. But he regularly underachieves in the tournament, flaming out many years when he has very good teams. His team with Brand, Maggette, Langdon etc. could have won the title with me coaching. I don’t think he has won since then. That said, he is an amazing recruiter, and he gets highly ranked players who stick around for more than 1 year. Gary could learn a thing or 2 in that respect.
Izzo on the other hand, does alot with nothing much.

i said theres no way you guys can advance to the final four, and that for what it’s worth, you guys wouldnt beat msu in my opinion. I think UMD was tremendously overseeded and should have been around a 6 or 7.

and I’m not a huge Maryland fan as MaLoR will tell you. However, they have been impressive this year and have talents in all areas of the paint and beyond and are athletic enough to play a tough schedule of 6 tough, stressful and physical games over the next few weeks.

real impressive. A win over an overrated Dook team at home. Lost b2b games to Cincy, not a tourney team, and Wisconsin, another 4 seed. Lost games to Wake and Clemson. Other than Dook no big wins. Real impressive

Wow, that was the ONLY loss that looked bad. Did you fail to realize that the William and Mary loss was the only home loss? yes 15-1 at home this year. Wow, they had one game where they were off as a team. it happens. I cannot believe that you are making that your argument right now. Why don’t you evaluate this team by the come from behind wins they god on the road and the blowouts in the ACC they were giving out at home.
All our big losses came at the beginning of the season.

Your scouting of teams consists of checking espn.com for schedule results. Way to go. You are a true innovator of analysis.
MaLor has given his reasons for arguing UMD as a solid team, and all you will offer is that we lost to W&M, which is bad, lost to an equal team in Wisc and lost some in conference games. T
he ACC is more balanced this year, but they had the same exact record in the ACC as Duke. Is that bad? If we are only talking about records and not style/quality of play than Duke is a 1 and had the same conference record…. so in all of our similar games we ended up with the same results as a #1 seed.
It's not how you start,
it’s how you finish. Yes, we lost to a real tough GT team, but we had won close to 10 games in a row and as bad a conference as you may think the ACC is, let’s see how good other teams would be if they had to play 16 games a year against this so physical conference and survive. That’s why a bunch of ACC teams go far in the NCAA’s because they are tourney tested all season long.
Now we get to watch what happens, starting at noon today.

I kinda hate that. I’ve heard many Maryland fans so that if he weren’t a Terrapin they’d think he was a douche.
Confidence comes off as cockiness sometimes. He thinks he is the best player on the court at all times and isn’t that what you want from your leader? His douchebagness pays off when he hitting 1 foot fall away runners in Scheyer’s face to win the game and when he drops 30 2nd half points against NC State for 41 in the game to have us come back on the road.
