Pressure is on for Flacco, Harbs and Oz
I’ll admit, when the Ravens signed Donte Stallworth I was left scratching my head. "I sure hope that he isn’t their answer at wide receiver," I told fellow Ravens fans. Then Baltimore made a big splash and reached out to Arizona to grab Anquan Boldin. Somewhere, days later, Anita Marks is still doing a victory dance. Yesterday, Jeff Pilson and I talked about the likelihood of Derrick Mason returning to Baltimore and I’ve got to admit, he nailed it. Last night the Ravens signed Mason to a 2 year deal. When I heard the news one thought ran through my mind, "No excuses in 2010."

I think that's what worries me the most. The "no excuses" thing.
I’ve become extremely comfortable with making excuses. If we pick up a couple good CBs I won’t be able to next year.
It definitely is a concern
I think fans think that this team was truly a wide receiver away from a Super Bowl, but I don’t think that is the case. They have a lot of work to do to live up to the massive amount of hype coming their way.

I kind of wish Anita was still around so I could hear her killer opinion on this team now.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
She would prob say that we need to release Boldin, and trade Flacco for a 7th round pick
Sounds strangely like raven. hmmmmmmmmm, any connection?

I woud still have a few concerns as a Ravens fan
I have gone on the record as saying that IMO the Ravens are the team to beat in the AFCN. Is there pressure on the Ravens to win? Yes, but no more than the Bengals and Steelers. The Ravens had done an excellent job in FA. They beat a pondering FO in Cincy and got Boldin and left us with not real choice but to take the next best realistic signing in Bryant. +1 for the Ravens. But here in Cincy it is possible that our secondary can handle your WRs just a bit better than your secondary can handle ours unless Heap returns to form. So here, right now, predraft, you have the edge. I still think you lack a real stretch the field WR as neither Mason or Boldin can be considered burners.
I posted on our site yesterday that one of my greatest fears for the season is that you guys draft either McCluster or Jordan Shipley for the slot. No LB, including Lewis in his prime, can cover McCluster 1 on 1. He is listed as a RB but his primary strength is at the Slot position. Shipley is a Wes Welker type only faster. Of course you need upgrades in the corner position and also need to consider that Reed and Ray are nearing the end of their stellar careers. Good picks for their replacement need to be on the agenda but they should be good again this year. If you draft McCluster or Shipley either would start immediately and IMO the division title is yours to lose – or win – whichever way you want to look at it.
The draft is going to be very big this year – more so than usual. Cincy can catch up if we get the right players or Baltimore can pull away. This is going to be interesting.

Just fear who ever we take John. But yes, Shipley would be a great pick up here.

Ain't Skeered
We pick before you. You lost picks and we gained picks. If, and that is a big if, Mike Brown lets Marvin and Zimmer make those picks we will be better too. I am praying we take Shipley in the 2nd. He or McCluster will not make it to the 3rd, especially late in the 3rd. You will have to come to terms with the fact that though you have a very good team, we do too and your D is not intimidating anymore. They are very good but not what they once were.
I see us taking one of these 5 players in the 1st. Dez Bryant, Thomas, Iutapi, Pouncy or Gresham. I think 1 of the 5 will be there for us. What is your preference in the 1st MaLor.
