For Those Who Might Want Antonio Cromartie
Lately, in looking at the players who are going to be free agents or possibly available via trade, a lot of Baltimore Ravens fans have been debating the possibility of bringing in the San Diego Chargers cornerback, Antonio Cromartie. After grabbing ten picks in 2007, he's only had a combined five interceptions the last two seasons. Cromartie has the size to be one of the bigger CB's on this team and at 6'2" and 203 pounds, you'd think he'd be a thumper in the secondary. Unfortunately, that is not looking to be the case with him as he heads into his fifth NFL season.
Here is a link to a hilarious site that has posted a fictitious Facebook exchange between Cromartie and his defensive teammates "during" the Chargers playoff game against the New York Jets, with accompanying videos.
Here are Antonio Cromartie's career stats off of the ESPN team page of the San Diego Chargers:

We dont need Cromartie
What we need is another Frank Walker. Does he have any younger brothers? If so let’s get them in here. I’d say 8-9 million should suffice for their first year. So c’mon Oz, let’s make it happen.

I'm fine with keeping walker here.
He wants to be here and is willing to do whatever it takes. He messed up at times last year, but he was incredible in the 2 playoff games, where it matters most. Cromartie would only be signed as a precaution that Webb is not coming back at the start of the season. Pretty sure this team wants foxworth and Webb to be the starters. I rather just bring in depth through free agency and the draft rather than give up Willis for someone who has shown us mixed performances.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
Agreed. I don’t want to see McGahee going anywhere, I just like to give Walker a hard time. He did step up in those postseason games though. But what the pass defense is lacking is not a Jekyl & Hyde like Cromartie. We need a more consistent pass rush. Any CB is going to get beat when the other teams QB has all day to pick apart the secondary. What I would like to know is, when is Suggs going to step up and start earning that contract?

You are correct sir.
Plus we have to remember that we faced all of the leagues best QBs this year. Go look at those names and look at our 8th ranked pass defense and be happy about that. They were top ten in the league with a pass rush that was in the bottom half of the league. And we missed Reed. CBs can only react to the WR while a WR can do what he wants. We just need nickel and dime help, but I would still like Walker and Carr to be a part of that.

With Webb injured and Foxworth the starter,...
Cromartie would be a fine backup for Webb and even a great nickel back compared to what we’ve seen here. I’ll take Fox, Webb, Cromartie and Fabian (if he’s brought back) as my four DB’s over what we’ve had for the past four years or so.

Not realistic as a Nickel
He is going to want way too much money to make sense as a Nickel. He is most likely going to command top tier starting CB money, which rules us out. Not going to happen.
Welcome back
and with Webb out for who knows how long, I’’ll gladly put Cromartie in across from Foxworth until Webb proves he’s totally recovered. Until then, Cromartie can start and Webb can start back at nickel and then earn the starting gig.

I posted those gifs from that site in the Cromartie fanpost last week
Sorry, but no thanks on Cromartie or Peppers. Cromartie is a major head case and no one likes him in the locker room. And it is stupid to invest 130+ million into our pass rush if we signed Peppers. We should all be focused on Marshall/Boldin and that is all.

My rerasoning for taking Cromartie is
that our front seven are the run stuffers on this team anyway and I’ll take a good cover-corner over a run stopping corner any day in this defense. Cromartie may not be a tackler but he has poven he CAN cover.

if they get healthy
if washington and webb are healthy by next season we don’t need CBs. webb and foxowrth are good starting corners and carr and washington are decent back ups. walker I’m not a fan of but the guy would be #5.
realize that the secondary did a great job after the bye week. before the bye week we were running a different defensive scheme. it relied on us getting pressure on the quarterback to make up for the fact we were taking risks of being hit for big plays. when we didn’t get the pressure our secondary got lit up. after the bye week we got more conservative and stopped getting hit for big plays. getting to the quarterback was our issue last year, which had a lot to do with suggs constant injury IMO.
