How do you guys feel about Cromartie?
I just saw on ESPN that The Chargers are in the market for a RB and are shopping CB Antonio Cromartie. I know some of you guys might think that hhis 10 int season a few years ago was a fluke, but i still feel that he is a very solid corner and a young one at that. I know it might seem highly unlikely, but how about a Mcgahee/Cromartie deal. I think we all agree that Mcgahee's not going to want to continue to wors as a backup and after the amazingly productive year he had, i think we can get solid value for him. Do you guys think we should work on trading away McGahee for a corner, or should the efforts be more towads trying to get a Wide Reciever..
I mean at the very least, we might be able to get the colts for once
The opinions posted here are those of the administrator of this blog and his loyal readers. They are in no way official comments from the team, and should not be misconstued as such, even though he thinks he could do just as well or even a better job!

I love it
A source for the Chargers told me that they are fed up with Cromartie and his All About Me attitude. He said the players hate him and the coaches can’t work with him. I think we could get him for a 2nd round pick or trade McGahee and a 4th round pick for him.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
Only concern I have is...
That he has four hundred kids from 399 different women. He has openly admitted that his lack luster 2008 performance was due to his “head not being in it” because of his kids and baby mommas. If he doesn’t pull that sort of crap again than I have no problems at all with it because he has great ability.
I'm all for it but..
I wonder if Jalen Parmele is ready to take the load off Rice because I know he can be a dynamic returner but I haven’t seen enough of him running the ball to be confident. Anyone think he can step up and if not is there someone else you like or will we need to draft a guy?

we're probably gonna land someone in the draft
and worst case scenario, we can give mcClain some more carries
Rice, Parmele, McClaine is more than enough. Parmele looks to be for real. He’s big, fast and quick. His returns bailed us out a few times. I think he’s earned a chance as a 3 back. McClaine really doens’ get any love. He’s faster than people think. He did run 70+ yards in Dallas. I think he got the raw end of the RB deal last year.
McGahee has trade value at this very moment and we need to pull the trigger. Cromartie would be a good straight up trade.

With our current DB group
and Webb sidelined for who knows how long, Cromartie for Willis gets my thumbs up.

A non-tackling Cromartie will cement our DB reputation. Funny how Webb was our most sure handed tackler back there. Foxworth seemed to swing on jerseys, Reed kind of likes the forearm shiver and Walker…well. He’s happy to be there. Nothing beats McCallisters pin ball shoulder tackles that propels Steeler receivers towards the end zone. Wrapping up is a dirty word and doesn’t make the highlight reels.
I think Cromartie is the perfect type of player to take a chance on. I’m not so sure about Stallworth (seems like another LJ Smith to me), but I think Cromartie is a premier corner in the NFL. He may have tackling issues, but if he can cover, who cares? Complaining about a corner’s ability to tackle is like complaining about a wide receiver’s ability to block. Sure, it’s nice if they can block, but no one really cares if they score touchdowns.
I think our defense would be a better fit for Cromartie. He had his best season under Wade Philips, who runs a similar defense to the Ravens. When he can concentrate on locking down his man, I think Cromartie is one of the best in the NFL. I really like McGahee and still think that he’s starter quality, but we can’t afford to have that much talent at one position. Rice isn’t going anywhere, so I say that we should use our overwhelming strength at RB to strengthen our questions at CB… via trade.
how do you make these?

My favorite play of the regular season by far
and along w/ Rice’s 83 yard run to start off the NE playoff game, my two faves of the whole year!

I will always remember beign there for that and then explaining to the late arriving Pats fans that it was indeed not a typo, we are actually up 7-0 after less than 20 seconds!
Yeah
that entire first quarter was perhaps the best of the Ravens history!

I love cromartie and am praying for us to get him. He’s one of the most athletic corners in the league and would provide a boost to our secondary. Even if he doesn’t become a pro bowler he will be better than fabian and obviously better than walker.
I'll gladly take a combination
of Cromartie, Webb and Foxworth at the corners and then if we can only get a pass rush…..

No chance at all.
Peppers is not going to be a Raven next year. No shot. We already gave Suggs 67 million to be our premier pass rusher. Ozzie will not give another 70+ million to Peppers.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
Cough cough
(love Peppers as well). Alas, I agree we’ll not see him in Ravens purple though.

Anywhere but NE, and I will be fine.

I don't know...
NE is looking like a possibility for AD.

No Cromartie
We already have enough corners who don’t wanna tackle. I say we fill the WR need in FA and then the CB need in the draft.
FEAR THE NEVERMORE DEFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ya we all want to trade for marshall, trade for cromartie, sign peppers, but it’s just not going to happen. I would love it if we could, but realistically we can’t think all of these are going to happen if any. Hopefully we can make some big moves, but these monster moves just don’t happen that often in the NFL.
Perhaps one of them will happen
but all or even two of them is very, very doubtful.

But can you imagine what would happen next year if it did?

How come you hate Todd McShay? I enjoy hearing what he has to say. He knows his stuff.

Gotta love the one-on-one
between McShay and Kiper! Like what it used to be between the Professor (John Clayton) and Sean Salisbury (before he got fired!).
