I will be starting a 5-week posting chain of who I like at what position for the 2010 Draft. This week I am doing wide receivers. As we all know by now, our WR corps are weak, Mason is like 70 years old, Clayton's nick-name is "Butterfingers McGee", and Kelly is good, but not #1 material. There are a few WRs I would like to see the Ravens consider in the Draft.
Dez Bryant: 6'2" and 215 pounds. He is a beast of a WR and had 1480 receiving yards in his sophomore year. He probably would have had this more this year if he wasn't suspended by the NCAA. He is definitely my favorite WR in the draft this year.
Marshawn Gilyard: 6'1" and 180 pounds. He has been a production monster for the Bearcats, and has had 1000+ yard seasons for the last 2 years. He would be the 2nd WR I would like if Dez is taken before him. But actually, Gilyard looks like he will have a brighter career than Dez, I just like Dez because of his athleticism.
Brandon LaFell: 6'3" and 205 pounds. He has been decent for the LSU tigers, but has failed to put up a 1000 yard season. But the Tigers didn't exactly have the best QB in the world. I believe he could become very effective in our system, considering we have a gunslinger like Flacco manning the helm. I believe his production has nowhere to go but up if he enters the right system.
Damian Williams: 6'1" and 195 pounds. He is electric when he gets the ball, and he knows how to get open, and what to do with the ball once he has it. He is coming off of a 1000 yard season for USC, and the thing I like about him is, he put up those stats after Mark Sanchez left for the Jets. I think he would be a good fit in our offense because he is used to strong handed QBs, and guess what? We have one.
Dezmon Briscoe: 6'3" and 200 pounds. He is an amazing WR that will have a great NFL career if he gets a good QB. I love this kid, because look at his stats, He is pretty much B-Marsh just younger. I would love to have him on his team, because he is the complete package. Just look at his stats and highlights, they speak for themselves.
This is the list of my favorite WRs going into the draft, and to tell you the truth, I would be happy if we could get any of them. Here's to a long (and hopefully prosperous) off-season. GO RAVENS!
