Ravens Escape Houston With Win

Stay connected for news and updates

Thanks to overtime heroics by cornerback Josh Wilson, the Baltimore Ravens literally escaped with a 34-28 win over the Houston Texans. After leading 28-7, the Ravens went into their classic late game funk and the defense allowed two touchdown drives of over 90 yards, the final one with a two-point conversion that tied the game with seconds left in regulation.

After getting the ball to start the extra period, the Ravens turned it over on downs and most people, including this writer, fully expected Houston to drive down the field for the victory. However, Josh Wilson had something to say about it and after two near sacks in the ed zone, Texans QB Matt Schaub (31-62 for 393 yards) threw a soft one that Wilson stepped in front of and ran the final ten yards into the end zone for the win.

Many fans will moan and grown about the same old Ravens fourth quarter collapse, but this ended in a win and the Ravens are 9-4, leading the New York Jets as the 5th seed in the playoff race and still a game behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North.
