OFFENSE- The Falcons like to pound the ball and wear you out. QB M. Ryan is a game manager, he is solid in every way. RB Michael Turner will get 25-30 carries, although not many toss plays. Roddy White is Ryan's number one target and gets 10-15 balls thrown his way in a game. Tony Gonzalez has lost a half-step and is now a possession guy. Their OL is a better run-blocking unit than pass protection, like the Denver Broncos "old style." Atlanta seems to play better in the clutch.
DEFENSE- Speed on their turf is a big factor. They lack depth defensively. On defense they have two great edge rushers in John Abraham and Kroy Biermann. They play a "Cover-2" in the secondary although you can beat their cornerbacks. Their linebackers are fast except for OLB Mike Peterson, who is a 12 year veteran. Atlanta can be very inconsistent at times, both up and down.
Overall, they are better at home than on the road, which gives them the advantage over the visiting Baltimore Ravens coming off a short week for both teams.
