Steelers cut Jeff Reed
...and the Steelers just got worse. Rumor has it that the Rooneys were fed up with Jeff Reed's on- and off-field antics and decided to move on with former Redskins' kicker Shaun Suisham today. While it's true Reed has had a bad year statistically, and also went off about his former employers last week (a true death knell if there ever was one), he has usually been one of the few kickers who was money in the ketchup bottle with its soft turf and swirling winds. The only thing Suisham has going for him is that he only shanked a kick once every 5 times for the 'Skins. Baltimore fans, we can all breathe a sigh of relief as our path to the playoff may have just gotten a little easier.

Just as long as they don't sign Stover.
Also, I would say that the decision to keep Billy Cundiff was a good one. As good as the Patriots looked, Shayne Grahmn did not look that great.
I would say whoever they sign, won’t be as good as Jeff Reed (hopefully).
I say he kicks about 70% and ends up costing them a game or 2.
Reed was right though about their field. Pittsburgh has always been known for having one of the sloppier fields in the league.
This could spell bad news for them.

That's 2% better than Jeff Reed was kicking
I’ll take it

I saw this on the sunspot.net
Look up Jeff Reed on Google images, the guy is a freak!
I thought # 7 was the perv.
Big mistake. Finding a kicker who can be consistent at their field is going to be tough.
Well good for us in coming years if they can’t.
This year
Our opponents have a better FG % at Heinz than Reed. That theory is out the window.

But opponents are only playing there once a year, so that is where Roa’s comment talking of consistency plays in. It is tough to be able to make kicks game after game at Heinz field, which is something Suisham is going to have to do because he is the only guy who will be kicking on that field regularly.
And Reed wasn't making kicks there consistently this year
So it’s not a big mistake even if Suisham fails, it was the right move.
