Kyle Boller Starting for Raiders?
It appears that former Baltimore Ravens first round draft pick Kyle Boller will start for the Oakland Raiders this Sunday against the Denver Broncos. The final decision on the starter will come Wednesday, but due to the injury to Bruce Gradkowski and the ineffectiveness of Jason campbell, Boller could be the next man up for the Raiders.
See the story on Boller's possible starting assignment on NFL.com.

Boller could play really good if he starts and he did good in the preaseason
What does this even mean? How is this any different than his situation in Baltimore? Is there a situation in which one of our former players could possibly not do well? My curiosity is piqued.

excellent usage of the word “piqued.” Now, I’d like to see a little more use of the word “apex,” if it’s not too much to ask.

I enjoyed an excellent Apex chardonnay last night.

you would sit there with your chardonnay and correct my spelling errors.

For correcting spelling and grammar, I prefer a Californian merlot.

...If they want to drink Merlot, we're drinking Merlot...
…No, if anyone orders Merlot, I’m leaving. I am NOT drinking any fucking Merlot!
Yep. Love to see what the kid has got.
What can you guys tell me about him? Strengths? Weaknesses? Can he play behind a below average OL? Leader? Accurate?
Sorry for so many questions. :)
I’ll take 11 players with heart on the field over 11 guys with just talent. Talent is fleeting, it goes away over time. Heart is what drives you to be better. To push yourself beyond what you think your capabilities are. To show us that when you strive, all things are possible.- SMP

Strengths: Great on his knees
Weaknessess: Brian Billick and small blonde women
Play behind avg OL: Pretty bad
Leader: I’ll let you know tomorrow
Accurate: No…

Looks like he tried to live up to his name
but quickly realized that he was throwing a football not a cricket ball.
He’s very jittery. He was thrown into the mix way too soon with way too little help. He’ll occasionally have an amazing game, which will just make you WTF all over the TV. The tragic thing is that he might have been a pretty good quarterback if he had been handled correctly.

Oh... well this is gonna be fun...

Not sure jittery is the word I’d use, but you will certainly know what both sidelines look like by the end of the game, cause he’ll be running toward them all afternoon.

yeah he's a great athlete.
and he’ll make a few amazing plays. Then he’ll turn around and make a few amazingly bad plays.

He really could have been a good QB if it was not for Billick and Ozzie. Billick used him in every wrong way and Ozzie made Boller’s best WR over his years here Marcus Robinson and Devard Darling.

He has a Preponderance
For tripping over his own feet, his linemens’ feet when dropping back; he also will drop the ball with the slightest amount of contact in the pocket.
I agree that “jittery” is not the correct term. I think it is more along the lines of he has a difficult time inspiring confidence in those around him.
He does have a rocket for an arm. I have seen him make throws that only Peyton, Vick and Favre can make.
Bottomline: he has most of the tools, he just does not have “it” to put it all together, on a consistent basis.

Boller is a pretty good QB
when he has time in the pocket. The few games while he was here that he did well, the O-line had good games. His horrible games were when he was getting blasted on every single play.
He is a little jittery and has a bad case of ADHD, but he is a good guy and he is a solid backup. He definitely isnt the next Brady, but I think he was better than Troy Smith.

Uh-Oh
he was better than Troy
…I think I just heard the glass drop out of MaLoR’s hand…
Keep making statements like that, you may wake up in bed next to a horse head… or Ralph Friedgen’s head…
Haha
I put that line in specifically for Malor :)
No, but in all seriousness, I think Boller got a lot of flack for the piss poor O-line play.
