Ravens Playoff Facts: Did You Know?
Did you know that the Baltimore Ravens have the best All-Time winning percentage of any team in the playoffs this year? The Ravens 7-4 record (.636) is ahead of such playoff regulars New England Patriots 21-13, .613), the Dallas Cowboys (32-24, .571), the Indianapolis Colts (17-18, .486) as well as just ahead of long time playoff notable Green Bay Packers (25-15, .625)
Did you know that the Ravens QB Joe Flacco is the only quarterback in league history to ever play all 16 games in his first two seasons and lead his team to the playoffs both times?
Did you know that the Ravens are tied for fourth with six playoff appearances (including this year) since 2000? The Colts (9), Eagles (8), Patriots (7) are ahead of the Ravens and the Packers, Giants and Steelers are tied with us.
Did you know that the Ravens are only one of six teams to ever win the Super Bowl starting from the Wild Card slot, along with the Giants (2007), Colts (2006), Steelers (2005), Broncos (1997) and Raiders (1980).
Did you know that since the WIld Card playoff format was developed, the Ravens have the best playoff record (3-1) of all teams starting out of the Wild Card slot and along with the Cardinals (2-1), Packers (6-3), Eagles (7-5) and Patriots (4-3) are the only Wild Card teams to have a winning career record from that slot?
Did you know that the New Englnd Patriots have the second longest consecutive games home winning streak in NFL history with 11, trailing only the Green Bay Packers who had 13 home playoff wins in a row (1939-2002)? QB Tom Brady is 8-0 at home during the playoffs in his career. Too bad that streak has to end Sunday, huh?
Did you know that Sunday's game at the Patriots will be the Ravens 12th playoff game in team history and the club's 8th on the road? Their 5-2 road playoff record is the top road winning percentage (.714) in league history (minimum five games). Only the Carolina Panthers (4-2) have a winning record other than the Ravens with these minimum standards.
Did you know that Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has the third best record (2-1) and winning percentage (.667) of the head coaches in this year's playoffs, trailing only the Pat's Bill Belichick (15-4, .789) and the Cardinals Ken Whisenhunt (3-1, .750)?

This all adds up to an epic showdown in Bean Town. The Ravens are the better team, but will they win?
If less is more, imagine how much more more would be.
Penalties
As much as people hate on the Ravens, if we don’t commit these bonehead penalties we are as good as any team in the league. The Pat’s should be very afraid of us.
Like Seamus?

we havent beat one team that has a good quarterback
i hope so much that we will win. we were in every game that we lost besides the bengals game in cincinnatti. i hope we dont shoot ourselves in the foot again. no illegal contact. no p i . no missed field goals. because if we miss on scoring opportunities against new england than you can cancel it. no interceptions or fumbles in the redzone.
the only way we can beat them is if our offense can have long scoring drives and keep tom off the field. that guy edleman is good and he scares me.
did you know that the only team that we have lost to in the playoffs on the road is the pittsburgh steelers? terrible fact.
Yeah, we've fallen short so far
but we are playing much better now than we did earlier this season.

It's all about the match up
Somehow, we match up well against SD while Indy has problems with them. We also match up well against NE, as evidenced by our two last games. Remember in 2007 they were on their way to an undefeated season and we were horrible, but still gave them their tughest game of the season.

Surprising stats. Indy at 17-18 in the playoffs is funny. all the manning accolades and he is below .500 in the playoffs.
We are 4th in playoff appearances since 2000. Yeah, we’re a little spoiled. Easy to forget that geat stat.
Ravens-Pats 2007 game now on NFL Network. Ugghhhh. I can’t watch those painful replays.
Watching it as well
Seeing Boller’s slow, ugly release makes me want to turn away. Also, now that we don’t wear the all black anymore, I dont really like them that much. Makes everyone look really weird. I like the white pants and black jerseys when we wear them.
Can’t wait to see the refs win at the end of this and Billick blowing kisses to Rodney Harrison. Anyone go to see Billick at Chick-Fil-A last night? raven, you were working there at the time. If you got out of the bathroom, did you ask him anything?
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
I couldn’t get away from drivethru but I could see him at his table putting his crooked beak in a Chargrill Wrap and scratching out autographs with his talons. He drove a an orange MG and had to crain his head out of the side window to see. The guy’s a wreck these days. I wonder if he still navigates the Wye River with that crappy chased from NY Giants coach he baited here….and then exterminated.
Billick might be headed to Buffalo
Either him or COwher, and I couldn’t care less because whomever goes there loses anyway.

I can’t wait to see Billick in Siberia with wind burnt cheeks hunkered in an oversized Bills parka as his offense sputters at midfield and he passes on 3rd and 1 inch.
........And gets intercepted.

I agree. There’s entirely too much hype for a team with that kind of playoff record. I can’t wait to see them coming off the bench rusty in a couple weeks.
