The 12 2010 All-Stars to be selected to the All-Decade team have been named to the Pro Bowl a combined 77 times.
"This is a tremendous honor for me to be recognized as one of the best out of all the safeties who have played in the NFL this decade," says Denver safety BRIAN DAWKINS, who was selected to his eighth career Pro Bowl and is one of the four All-Decade safeties. "To know I’ve been able to do the things I’ve been able to do, with the help of my teammates, to earn a spot on the league’s All-Decade Team means a lot."
The NFL All-Decade teams are chosen every 10 years by the Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee members. The 2000s will mark the ninth All-Decade team to be selected in NFL history.
This decade’s 53-player team will be comprised of two quarterbacks, four running backs, one fullback, four wide receivers, two tight ends, four offensive tackles, four guards, two centers, four defensive tackles, four defensive ends, six linebackers, four cornerbacks, four safeties, two kickers, two punters, two kick returners and two punt returners. Two head coaches have also been chosen.
All-Stars from the Super Bowl competing teams will not participate in the Pro Bowl, but they will attend the game and be honored as part of the pregame festivities. Three of those players have also been selected to the All-Decade Team: quarterback PEYTON MANNING and defensive end DWIGHT FREENEY of the Colts and safety DARREN SHARPER of the Saints.

Would take big bucks
that we could probably use elsewhere. Hopefully he’ll go to the NFC somewhere we’ll see him only every three-four years.

Anyone else have a feeling we go into next year with the same players and no big signings. I think the Ravens will mistakenly put too much hope on Flaccos “growth”. I can’t see any defensive signings and I don’t think we’ll get a WR outside of the draft. I just can’t see any money going out. It’s a safe way to go and we’ll probably make the playoffs but won’t get past Indy (who is getting younger and winning-ouch). Manning should be able to play until he’s 40. Even the Steelers are developing WR’s. This Wallace kid is a good one and played beyond his years last seaon. Clayton hasn’t played up to his years yet.
I get the same feeling, raven
Sometimes, I just get the random feeling that we are going to do nothing…..again, to help Flacco out. We have only 1 WR under contract next year and that is Justin Harper. I sadly believe that Ozzie will waste money on average #2-3 WR in this league through Free Agency and ignore the fact that Joe NEEDS a #1 that is not 35 years old and cannot be covered 1 on 1.
I will state this again, it kills me each and everyday knowing that in the 2005 and 2006 drafts, we took Mark Clayton over Vincent Jackson AND Roddy white, then the next year, we took Demetrius Williams over Brandon Marshall. Ozzie and DeCosta are considered two of the best in the league at evaluating talent, yet they have failed to give this team any threat of a WR group since we have been in this league.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
The CBA issue wil affect our ability to sign FA's
We will have to wait until someone signs one of ours before we are allowed to sign anyone under the CBA now. Sucks.

I’m with both of you, I just don’t see us getting a big named guy in free agency. Lets just pray we draft a receiver and he turns out to shock a lot of people.
Yea, just like Travis Taylor, Mark Clayton and Williams shocked people?

I could. The best WR in this league are big bodies with the exception of a few speedsters like Smith, Jackson, Wayne etc. But look at who dominates this league at WR. They are all over 6’3". Drafting guys who run sub 4.4-4.5 and are just pushing 5’11 has average WR written all over it. IE Taylor and Clayton.

What bothers me most about a lot of our young receivers is that they never get any reps. We load up on prospects and they never really see the field. How many TE’s and WR’s have come and gone without any reps. It’s a disservice to these guys. Practice only tells so much about a guy. You can practice running and then run from a lion. 2 totally different speeds.
that just shows you the damage that was down to so many players with billicks refusal to admit he couldn’t get a qb up to speed. when you have to wait for a qb you are burning other peoples careers. i am a huge believer in getting a veteran who can make an immediate impact. dedicating 4-5 years on a rookie is dumb. i would have had warner in here years ago.
