OK so while most of us would obviously like to acquire Dez Bryant, Anquan Boldin, and Brandon Marshall all at the same time this offseason, we obviously will not have the option of doing all of that at once. This fanpost is basically a loosely-structed poll as to who you guys want. After the jump we have Free Agents and Rooks.
First the RFAs (restricted free agents), or probable RFAs since their status as RFAs depends on whether or not there is a new CBA (unlikely at this point). Brandon Marshall is really the noteworthy guy in this group if you ask me, but if you guys know of any others go ahead and shout them out. As for Marshall, you all know the deal: guaranteed 100 catches, and he's well behaved if you're winning and a brat if you're not. I'd take him, some wouldn't for his "character" issues. Moving on.
Boldin. The guy is about 30 I think and he's a great talent but not in Marshall's league. What sets him apart is his toughness. His situation is similar to Marshall in that Boldin isn't happy where he is and it is likely that his team will not make a strong effort to resign him. (Actually I think Boldin is a UFA but I'm not sure.)
As for the Draft, we have a couple of good options in the top two rounds. First off is Dez Bryant. I suggest you youtube him if you haven't already. 6-2, can jump and catch anything, and he has better speed than Crabtree. He will probably be a top-15 pick or at least top-20, so there is a chance he'll be there when we pick.
Then there's Notre Dame's Golden Tate. He's a converted running back with great skills running with the ball. He has incredibly strong hands but he's a bit of a project with route-running (although this can be learned). My only problem with Tate is that he's 6-0 and we all know the Ravens would really like a guy who's an inch or two taller if we can get him. But Tate has the looks of a stud posession receiver who can break tackles and turn small slant routes into home runs.
And then there's Illinois' Arrelious Benn. I like this kid. He's 6-2, 220, with good speed, but lackluster numbers. I'm not so worried about his college numbers because he's had terrible QB play this year, but his physical skills look really impressive. (See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOEqkXIzZFM ). Some say he could go in the top 20, but I find that hard to buy given how low he's flown under the radar. Then again, we all know how much the combine means (too much if you ask me), so if he clocks a 4.4 and jumps 40 inches who knows how high he'll get picked. Right now he's a second-rounder.
Those are the best 5 guys we can hope to grab, and I'm guessing its more likely that we draft one than sign one. But if I may be permitted to get my hopes up just this once, it may even be possible to have our cake and eat it too if we sign a FA like Boldin and then Tate or Benn is there when we pick in the 2nd round.
