Adrian Peterson vs RAVENS Defense

Adrian Peterson is one of the most dominant running backs in NFL, he ran well against almost all defenses in the league. He is an important candidate for 2009 MVP, he has now a better QB in Brett Favre (al least better than Tarvaris Jackson), and a great Offensive Line.

Raven defense has +40 games witout allowing any RB with 100+ yards, since KC Larry Jonhson in 2006...

Do you think our defense will limite Peterson under 100 yards?????

Personally, I wanted the Vikes to get Favre

just so our defense can do the same thing to him we did last time he came here and we destoyed him with the legendary Boller at QB!

no

Boller>Brady Quinn

I was just saying that AP will have more than 100 yards. But you overestimate Boller in both of your analogies

What makes Quinn better than Boller again? Oh yea, he has nothing.

And Boller has a lot?

Play off wins and some decent stats in one of the worst passing offenses of the last 10 years.

If Boller was on the Browns all you would talk about is how awful he really is

If Boller was on the Browns

we’d have ended his career a long time ago. Ray Ray would have introduced him to the NFL.

AP

is a beast in his own right. But…he disappeared in the playoffs last year, he always has some sort of nagging injury and seems to fumble a little more than your average running back. With that said, I think our speed to the ball on the outside with Suggs, JJ and T-Good will contain him pretty well. Haloti will play a huge role in stopping him, along with Buddy Lee, J-Bannon, Trevor Pryce and non-stop motor Paul Kruger. We contained LT when he was at his very best, more than once. I think we can handle him, plus name a legiitimate threat in their passing attack, were going to be playing the run already.

It will all depend on how the game goes

If the Ravens have a decent lead early in the third quarter, Brett will forget AP is even there and uncork the gunslinger in him. That of course will lead to sacks, pressures and interceptions like we all know Brett is capable of.

Better bring the A-game

For the Ravens to contain AP, they must play alot better run D than they did against the Giants last year, who by all rights should have had a 100 yard rusher in Brandon Jacobs. I think that particular performance by the Ravens’ D was an aberration, but nonetheless they are not invincible and they’d better bring it.

Yea

But that one game isnt enough for us to hold it against us, you know. I mean 1 bad game is bound to happen, I mean the Saints help AP to 32 yards on 21 carries last season. The Titans, Panthers, Bucs, Jags and Atlanta all held him under 100 yards. Even if the streak is broken, he’s not enough to beat us, we’re way too solid to allow one player to beat us. Brett favre dont have a chance against us.

+1

Great matchup and we will see. However, we will make him pay for every yard he does get. Take away Jacobs long run at the beginning of the game and Bradshaw’s at the end and the Giants running game was mediocre that day.

Only thing I am worried about with that game is stacking too many in the box for AP and then Favre hitting a WR who has 1 on 1 coverage for a big time play. Yes, our CB’s are very fast, but so are the WR for the Vikings with Berrian and Harvin. If there is anyone I would want to break the streak on us, it is Peterson. He is just incredible. He can run for 100 yards on us, lets just get the win.

Our front seven is so strong

we don’t need to stack the box against anybody.

Haloti Ngata

stacks the box all by his lonesome.

Mattison is waiting until the regular season to unleash his 1-6 defense (2-5 if Suggs wants to start off with his hand on the ground a couple times a game alongside Ngata).

Water covers 2/3 of the Earth's surface. Ed Reed covers the rest.

haha a 1-6 defense

is that something that’s really being talked about or are you just thinking aloud? who would the six be?

Lewis, Suggs, Gooden, Johnson, Kruger, McClain?

Lewis, Suggs, Gooden, Johnson, McClain, Barnes?

Harvin

I bet Percy is already injured and out for a few weeks by the time we play them.
