There was someone who posted in here earlier by the name of J-Man and his post was removed because "of poor grammer and spelling" and because "we have to keep things professional" and that the post was "embarassing"

You know, you should really take the time to dig a little bit. Just because you see someone who doesnt type or spell very well and you automatically assume its some idiot. All you had to do was click on his name and visit his profile. You can do that here: http://www.sbnation.com/users/j-man

The guy has Cerebral Palsy, Arthritis, and Chronic Fatigue. His About Me section explains this. He has a hard time typing because of these problems. He's gone around SBNation commenting on every blog. He's a true NFL fan who just wants to make predictions and break down other teams, just like the rest of us do.

All the other blogs initially gave him trouble because of his grammer, spelling and punctuation, but atleast SOMEONE within the blog was able to figure out why J-Man doesnt type well. Yet, Baltimore Beatdown decided they just wanted to treat him like hes just another idiot. Real classy.

Do your research before you down somebody else.

We do not look at each and every single person’s profile to find out if they have a medical condition which hinders them from contributing well written pieces. We have had numerous outsiders come through this blog and create fan-posts which were badly written and did not fit well on the page.

the fact that he was treated like an “idiot” is extremely unfortunate and although i wasnt one of the people poking fun at him, i really feel for the guy. Its terrible that someone less fortunate than myself had to experience something like that. I hope he comes back and writes again because i would love to talk football with a guy that loves the game so much.

With that being said, “malor” pointed out the fact that the average reader on a site like this is not going to even begin thinking that a person using poor grammar would have a condition that hinders him from typing correctly. Therefore I hope that whoever it was that made jokes towards him goes out of there way to apologize because “j-man” definitely dosn’t deserve that.

No one ever made a joke towards his condition because I think the few that posted on that fanpost, including myself, were unaware of his condition. I had absolutely no idea of what J-Man goes through, and I think neither did the rest of the Beatdown. No one on this site would ever poke fun of someone with such a serious medical ailment.

We have a frequent blogger by the name of 2000 Ravens who has ADHD and frequently writes up his opinions in the best way that his mind and physical abilities will let him. Even though some of his posts are rather grammatically incorrect, Bruce Raffel always makes sure to go back and touch up 2000 Ravens’ posts for him to make them a little more eligible.

Again, sorry if we were a little to quick to jump on J-Man. I truly think no one here had any idea of his malady until now.

Not intentional at all

I don’t recall the post but as MaLoR said we have a ton of fan posts that are barely legible (most due to dunk ness or carelessness) so they usually are cleaned up or removed if the overlap with another post.

It’s the internet… Sometimes its hard to read bewteen the lines in matters such as this.

I understand your point but I think you are unfairly labeling a whole blog as insensitive when that is not the case. Either way, we all apologize to him and welcome him to post here if he ever chooses to do so.

Last thing… The Ravens, and J-Mans Bronco’s for that matter, are going to lay a Beatdown to the Chiefs, starting in week one.

Ah, I feel horrible. Even though I just joined Baltimore Beatdown, but have been reading everyones posts for a while, i feel horrible that he was treated this way. I hope he comes back and we can all apologize and comfort him.

it was noting penoral i need to try to do a better job on grammer and speller i just joined these sites a week ago the reason i did not tell about my condinton was i did not know it was impront to the dicusson because fountly my cp is not as bad as others it really only affects my right side of my body and my legs i cant stard without heip i cant use a waiker because my knees swell really bad like grapefiutis but i am compy with my wheelchair in fact i am getting a new one state of the art again noting peronal toward the ravern naton in fact i just found there was spell check last night and u shouild beat kc by the way i think u will go 10-6

Zero problem w/ this

I just commented that this was a professional network of sites and the grammar and typing had to improve. There was no explanation nor poor treatment from me or anyone else. J-Man is welcome to post here, but to cme here to slam us (and me, specifically) and call us classless is even worse.

I respect j-man, but not your way or trying to show your support for him buy badmouthing this site or me directly. I’ll leave this up for the rest of theday and j-man is more than welcome to post here, but I will delete this post later, as it is unnecessary.

Its my first time going to training camp

Can you tell me some things of advice? I’m in Owings Mills so I was planning on leaving around 7 and getting there 7:30 ish—7:45 too. Where do I go? Should I go for getting autographs? I know you should stand in line to get autographs, but can you still watch practice from there?

Or should I just sit on the bleachers or bring my own chair? I have a special pass on the 8th to get mid field seats (because of club level seats)so what would you recommend? And if it does rain, how will it affect the day?

Training camp is the best.

Where do you live in Owings Mills? You go to highschool there around that area or college or are you old like raven?

Well tomorrow is the first like, real big time practice with ALL the players, so it will be pretty crowded. This is why I am getting there 45 min early. If you leave at 7, you should have no problem getting there by 7:45. If you know how to get to McDaniel, just follow the traffic. They have signs all over the place saying Training camp this way and stuff. You park in a big field, or at least we did last year.

The players sort of just come around the whole fence line signing stuff for you. Wait until you see the crowd for Ray. It is insane.

Need anything else? Look for me, I will be in a Black McGahee jersey with a red Titelist golf hat on.

I live in Owings Mills lol? Um I go to high school there and take a guess what its called :P. I was hoping to go to Franklin High School, but I attend Owings Mills High instead and am currently putting my GPA together, and working towards that 4.0 with all GT classes (no honor for me, and AP..well…**** it). So now im not old like Raven. YOu in owings mills too? How old is Raven/

I’m sure it’s going to be very crowded. I’ll be there by 7:30. Yup I know where McDaniel College is, even though i won’t be driving lol.

That’s pretty cool. How does a smaller guy like me get an autograph? Could I just slip through the crowd lol?

Owings Mills is a shithole. I had a lot of friends go there and they said it was grimey and dirty. I line in Hampstead now (for the summer) than College Park during the school year, but I am always in the Owings Mills/Reisterstown area. Got alot of friends on OM Blvd.

Just have someone put you on their shoulders and scream for an autograph.
