Ravens 1st Round Draft Pick Michael Oher Signs
The Baltimore Ravens and first round draft pick, OT Michael Oher, have agreed to a five year deal. Terms have not been disclosed as of yet, but should be released shortly. He is expected to be in Baltimore tomorrow and will be in uniform and on the field when the entire team practices together for the first time in their 2009 Training Camp on Friday, July 31st.
According to the team, the Ravens are one of the first NFL organizations to have all of their draft picks signed. See the article on BaltimoreRavens.com.

Most of us just refer to him as Ozzie, but whatever floats your boat.

Correct
I edited the line to read, “…one of the first organizations…”

Cant wait to see him in the pre-season games!
I wonder if they keep him on the field for more plays than the rest of the “starters.”

I heard an interview with Shaun Tuohy
Michael’s father and he said he is in amazing shape. He said he is at 5% body at over 300lbs. I don’t believe that but if he is anywhere close, my god. Talk about a physical specimen. It looks like we have two stud tackles to protect Joe for the next 5+ years. How’s that for replacing J.O.?
by DT711 on Jul 30, 2009 11:07 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I heard that interview as well
Funny how he’s referred to as his “father,” which I guess makes sense as he did pretty much raise him. Doubtful about the 5% body fat comment as well, but when I saw him at OTA’s, he had no belly fat like most OT’s, including Gaither. Like to see a photo of him and the Bengals #1 pick, OT Andre’ Smith (the guy who ran his 40 shirtless, with his man-boobs flopping all over the place-disturbing). Classic difference between two organizations in that comparison!

C'mon
He’s got 15 pounds of fat in each one of those chubby chipmonk cheeks of his!

by Massacre on Jul 30, 2009 1:11 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I wouldn't go that far
He is clearly over 5% body fat, but I would bet that he has one of the lowest BF%‘s of any O-Lineman in the NFL. Considering most rookies come in with baby fat, that’s pretty damn impressive.
by DT711 on Jul 30, 2009 1:20 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I know
I was just joking – thought that was clear. I just looked at some picks from OTA’s and he really does look like a very trim 300+ lbs, especially in the belly.
But seriously those cheeks, I just wanna squeeze ’em!

You can tell he didn’t want to have a hold out. It’s really important that we had him signed because he means A LOT to our O-Line.

5% body fat
Just salivate over the possibilities. He could report in games as reciever eligable a couple dozen times. Imagine the YAC when he’s one on one with corners.
OK I get a little sarcastic when I been drinking but it would be a entertaining play (even realistic ) to see him grab a pass on like 2’nd & medium. Have a nice weekend all.

i heard they kept him in the basement with a rusty Bow Flex and fed him aged turnips.
by raven on Jul 30, 2009 9:45 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Actually
it’s said that aged turnips are full of protein. See when it ages, the amount of calories initially stored in it are released in a carbonic gas and it frees up the amount of protein which expands on the amount of molecules and atoms floating in the core. Sometimes the amount of pesticides sprayed on certain turnips can also impact the amount of nutrients stored inside of it, so that’s where he must have gotten that big body mass and BMI of his.
It’s actually probably a good idea to eat aged turnips, I think I’m going to try it and see if I can bulk up like him.

I believe that
the Ravens are only one of three teams that have signed all their draft picks. I think the big hold up for teams is that with the Union/Owners issues coming up, nothing has been running to smoothly across the league. I think this is kid is going to be a freaking stud!

our line
As big and athletic as these young guys we are getting on the line, even if we had a team full of #1 WRs teams may want to keep their Ds at home because they know they can’t stop the run. When we had JO and J Lewis or anyone for that matter in the backfield they couldn’t stop us. Just imagine Oher and McClain blocking for two mobile blockers and Rice following them and finding his lane…
We will do fine with what we have…
