Ravens and OLB/DE Paul Kruger Reach Agreement
Reported by www.BaltimoreRavens.com
The Baltimore Ravens and their second-round draft pick DE/LB Paul Kruger agreed to a four-year deal on Saturday, vice president of football administration Pat Moriarty announced.
Kruger will sign his contract this coming Monday when the Ravens’ rookies, quarterbacks and select players report to training camp in Westminster, Md.
Tabbed as the 57th-overall pick, Kruger was a two-year starter at defensive end for the University of Utah. The 6-4, 260-pounder declared for the NFL Draft after his redshirt sophomore season. He finished his Utes career with 124 tackles (55 solo), 10.5 sacks (-74 yards), three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions
Originally recruited to play quarterback, Kruger switched to defensive end following a two-year (2005-06) LDS Church mission in Kansas City, Mo. When he returned to the gridiron, he quickly established himself as a standout lineman, earning several All-American honors and All-Mountain West Conference accolades during both his redshirt freshman and sophomore campaigns.

Thanks for that.
My bad if this was just from baltimoreravens.com. Was on the run and just wanted to get it out there quickly.

10.5 sacks an entire college career nets you a million bucks. i’ve seen it all now.
i’d get 10 sacks by accident in 2 years at DE. you figure the QB is bound to run into you at least that many times if you just stand there.
i bet he is the first DE ever to get 1 million in gauranteed money for having 10.5 sack in his career.
Stats don’t say everything. Suggs has 13 sacks over the last 2 seasons, does that mean he is not deserving of what he got?

Pretty Damn Good
For a converted QB, with only two years or so of DL/LB experience.
raven,
he was drafted for what he can do for us in the future…. Not for what he’s done in the pass. He is still a work in progress.
in the picture above he just looked at Gaither, turned and ran into the secondary. we can’t have that!
Rather have Gaither beating Kruger than the other way around.

I saw Kruger working against Gaither
In the final OTA in June at Owings Mills Complex. He “disappeared” into Gaither’s massive frame and was pushed around like a toy. On one hand Gaither is unlike any OT he probably faced at Utah and on the other hand he will be a great learning tool for Kruger, who has a lot to learn.

Looks like a Kicker
Because of Gaither’s relative size to Kruger, it looks like one of our kickers going against Gaither in that picture.
i will be reporting from training camp starting monday morning after team meetings. i just got unpacked at the hotel and am getting hazed by the vets as i type. i’ve had to do 3 KFC runs and pick up a 12 pack of Colt Malt at the Carriage House.
he must of beefed up during his 2 year Church Mission. what did he do line up some shoeless Peruvian kids in the Andes and plow them over. i bet he filmed himself doing this like Uncle Rico on Napolean Dynamite.
“its like the worst video ever made!”
