Hahahahaha
QB T. Smith 59
I have a feeling Madden might want a restraining order against MaLoR for that one.

A 59!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is a crime. He deserves at least a 107.
This may be the worst attempt Ive ever seen in ranking our team. Look at our WR. We already are weak in that position in real life, how the hell am I going to be able to move the ball come August against the computer operated Steelers. I bet they got all 90’s. Our O-Line is way underrated here. Gaither a 79? Willie Anderson still on the list?
The one that pisses me off is Kelly Gregg’s. He used to be a much higher rank in 08. But the injuries killed him. Come week 8, he will be back in the 80’s.
T-Good got fucked over. A 65? I was planning on switching from Reed to Gooden on defense when I play. Gooden probably is the worst one on our starting defense now. Landry was a freaking 87 or something 2 years ago.
Fuck you Madden.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.

Yes, Fuck Madden
Matt Stafford is only two points below Joe? (79 vs 81)

They lowered the ratings on ALL players except the elite players like Reed and Lewis. They wanted a huge difference between playing with an average player and an elite player. Madden 2010 producer, Phil Frazier, said the following about the new player ratings:
Quite frankly, we were getting to a point in the game where elite players just felt like every other player in the game. Brandon Jacobs, who is just a beast, wasn’t able to break that many more tackles than the average running back because almost all of the ratings ended up between 80 and 99.
Our intention this year was to make the elite players stand out. We’re pretty sure a lot of players are going to be extremely unhappy about this, but the result is, there are a lot of guys who are coming down in ratings across the board. Every single rating is being adjusted. The elite guys, they’re safe. Peyton Manning, Randy Moss, Larry Fitzgerald, guys like that are going to be saved. But the average guy is certainly going to come down. Guys in the 70s are now average. You may even see some guys in the 40s.
And the game-play impact is absolutely huge. Now the teams actually feel like they have a personality. When you’re playing as a team like the 49ers who don’t have that elite quarterback, you’re going to have a hard time throwing the ball. It’s going to feel like you have a problem at that position, and that’s a great change.
Taking the new system into consideration, I’m happy with the Raven’s ratings in general. I’m surprised that they have Ray Lewis rated that high in the new system. I believe that he deserves the 97 rating, but most people would underrate him.

That is also bull. Landry will be receiving plenty of love in the updates after he outperforms Leonard ten times over.
by BAL_Hawk on Jun 16, 2009 2:08 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
79? i'd give him an 80!
But with the “new” rankings that dosn’t upset me. But Dawan dosen’t deserve a 71, give the kid atleast a 75. But come on fellas, he’s not an Ed Reed or even a top 20 safety in the league in my opinion. He has to put up consistent numbers for recognition. Thats just the way it goes. And might i add, without Leonhard the Ravens dont get to the AFCCG! Also, isnt he the one that had that Big return against the Squeelers to give us hope after being stiffled the entire game?
And Madden, give him a break, everyone knows the guy’s out there.

Landry’s speed rating is 78. By comparison, Zbikowski’s speed rating is 85. Landry should be at least as fast as Zbikowski.
by BAL_Hawk on Jun 16, 2009 2:52 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Zbi is faster than Landry
Especially w/ Dawan’s bulk, he is the hitter on the defense but not the speed.

by Bruce Raffel on Jun 17, 2009 9:11 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Okay then… Ray Lewis and Terrel Suggs are rated 83 speed. Again, Landry is rated 78 speed. There is no way that Suggs and Lewis are faster than Landry. Landry is a defensive back!

Landry has put up much more consistent numbers then Leonhard
He did it for two years, Leonhard for half of one year.
It’s all about what have you done for me lately.

It’s all about what have you done for me lately.
Is that an argument for Landry or Leonhard?
Water covers 2/3 of the Earth's surface. Ed Reed covers the rest.
by Ampallang on Jun 17, 2009 9:34 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Reasoning why
Leonhard is rated over Landry. Leonhard is a hot name from his playoff performance while Landry is flying under the radar since he missed most of last season.

That makes more sense.

We are ranked 82?!?!?!?!
What the HELL! We were ranked an 81 coming into last season, and thats coming off a 5-11 season. And after going to the AFCC, we only move up 1 point?
The Titans lost Haynesworth and we beat them in the playoffs, and they are a 87. You take away 3 players from the Falcons, and they are a 3-13 team. They get an 81 rank. Im seriously about to go get my money back on my reservation. Fuck waiting in line at midnight for this shit.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
by Mr MaLoR on Jun 16, 2009 2:11 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
This is seriously the worst shit Ive ever seen
I think that people who arent even Ravens fans should be upset with our ranking. A team that goes to the AFCC and gets 82. Stafford is a 79, Joe is a 81?
Landry drops 15 because of missing a season? Gregg drops 13 because of missing a season? Brady missed a fucking season, drop him to a 83 you shit heads.
I really thought that the Ravens were starting to get some respect in this league. Just because we are a rather new team, these fuckers make these rankings. I want to rip Madden’s chin off and beat all of EA Sports with it.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.

Not Surprised
EA is just pitiful. Check any of the boards of any of their games -lots of head scratching and few defenders. Even back in the day, “SimCity” et al, they stunk up the joint… obviously they have not changed their ways. I honestly believe all they care about is how many dollars they can capture. At least some of the other companies at least pretend they are a software company first; evil, money-sucking corporation second…

That if you are under 18 on xbox live, EA Sports will not let you play any of their games online.

Here are the player ratings in a Google spreadsheet.
It’s easier to look at all of the teams, and it also gives more statistics than the overall ratings.

Jamal was a freak
early in his career. Soooo fast for a pretty big back! Remember how he ran away from all those Cleveland defenders in his record breaking game?
Dude might stutter step all the time now, but in his youth was a speed freak!
aka 'Rexx'
by Bruce Raffel on Jun 17, 2009 9:13 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Completely Agree Rexx
but come on, how disrespectful is it for them to say he’s still faster? Jamal is easily a top 3 slowest back in the league! Willis can move, but not standing on the sideline.
Sounds to me that if you simulate a season on the new Madden, the Squeelers will win everytime. lol
by FEARtheTERP1 on Jun 17, 2009 9:29 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I think that’s the idea. The most popular teams always have the most generous ratings.

About Joe:
In order for him to have an 81, they must have gave him a 100 arm, a 0, mobility, a 0 accuracy, and a 0 in life.

i still have my 1978 pocket Intel Football with 4 against 4 blips. basketball, hockey, boxing, space invaders, galaxia, still have them all in perfect condition. but, no i’m not a vidiot because my clever parents made us type the flowchart into the Vic 20 to create the game. i think i had a figure do jumping jacks after entering 18 pages of text. ruined for life and i hate computers to this day. all the cool kids had Odyssy and Intellivision and Beta tapes.

Issues
Methinks you still have some to work through…
For the record, Beta was cool only until about 1985 because then you couldn’t get any more movies as they were (mostly) released on VHS by that point… still bitter about that…
Actually, I would have been impressed if you had said you had an MCA LaserDisc player- the big discs that were about the size of an LP record…

My dad paid $600
for our first Beta-max!
But then again, I paid $1600 for my first car-phone and around $1000 for the first generation of Motorola Wireless Flip Phones that was the size of a old fashioned walkie-talkie and everyone was so impressed on how “small” it seemed!

lol….the good old days..one machine a year. these modern vidiots get a new game every 2 weeks. you’ll like this. i had a video system that required the player to put a transparent paper on the tv itself. it was called haunted house. you guided a dot through the course. we also shared the 1 PET computer in elementary school but everyone got a chance to play Downhill Skiing. but the really young guys will like this. we actually went outside and played football and smear the queer. on frozen fields. everyone worries about concussions but man we smashed our heads dizzy every weekend and didn’t come home to cable medical shows pushing drugs on us and spooking everyone with ultra rare conditions. i’ll take the ’70’s over the past 2 decades easy.
by raven on Jun 19, 2009 12:59 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
In Hartford, CT
we started “Cowtipping” around 1977, and I got a scar to prove it, as the cows got pissed and chased us over the barb wire fence, which I didn’t exactly clear and caught my forearm.
We also went “Traying” on the dining hall’s trays on the icy covered snow on a golf course when wasted in the middle of the night and sailed for a few hundred yards at incredible speeds on the ice until we crashed into a tree or each other.
Ahh,…how we miss those drug-fueled ’70’s, eh?

Bicycle Helmets
In the neighborhood I grew up in (just north of Loch Raven), if somebody came out of their house with a bike helmet, we would have beat the crap out of them… Only kids that rode the short-bus to school (and Steeler fans) wore bike helmets back in the day… We all survived; yes some neighborhood mailboxes, a few teeth and a fence or two didn’t make it, but we all did…
I actually hurt myself more by riding my bike bar-footed in the Summer time than not wearing a helmet -kind of learned the importance of shoes at a fairly young age…

We were crazier!
We took an old shopping cart frfom a supermarket, took the cage off and sat on the base and rode it down HUGE hills at high speed, with only our feet between the wheels steering it – sort of. To stop, we tied a rope to a 2×4 and dropeed it in front of the front wheels. The damn thing stopped on a dime and we went flying! Took a few mouthfuls of blacktop on that thing!
