Ladarius Webb Interviews

I came across a few interviews with Ladarius, pre and post draft, from Sports With Coleman on 1370.  I just gave them a listen and really like what I hear from Webb.  He is going to fit right in, in this city and on this team.  I like when Coleman asks him about playing with a chip on his shoulder.  Webb responds, "I already got a couple.  Add me one on my back.  One because of my size.  One because I love the game.  Now one because I'm on the Ravens defense and thats going to be the best part."

Check them out if you haven't already listened...

I heard the pre draft one, but not the post draft

Another steal by Ozzie. And we FINALLY got a skilled position player with dreadlocks!

Gonna look so good in the black jerseys

Ha

If Troy Smith grew out dreadlocks I think your head would explode

Even better...

Ozzie trades for Boldin, who grows dreadlocks for Malor.

My theory on dreadlocks

is that pretty much EVERY player in the NFL w/ them is a ngood player! That bodes well for the little guy from Nicholls St. Also Webb was spending his down time after the draft coaching a team and wanted to be called “Coach Webb.” For a scary looking guy, he lives and breathes football. Typical Raven, will fit in well here.

Yes

I am really excited to see him, Rexx. To take a guy from such a small school who many of us never heard of really shows something of the guy. Ozzie must really like a lot of things about him. So I will also like him.

Sweet.

It’s amazing that he was in love with the Ravens BEFORE the draft. That’s very unusual. Most players are very political with their responses. Webb blatantly wanted to be a Raven. Very cool.

Also, Webb said that wanted to wear the number 21 (McAlister’s old number), but they said that McGahee had it reserved for himself. What’s going on with that? I’ve heard the same rumor elsewhere, but they haven’t changed McGahee’s number on the site yet.

Webb

I also thought it was great that he wanted to be a Raven before the draft. Very cool.

I believe that it is basically a done deal with Willis swapping to #21, but they are waiting for league approval before it becomes official.

Rather have Webb get 21

Then my favorite jersey would be void. McGahee 23

Fun Fact

Webb is a cousin of former NBA All Star Mitch Richmond

Im getting chills from listening to Webb before the draft

“The Castle is beautiful, the city is beautiful. Everything about Baltimore just makes it a perfect fit. I really want to play for Baltimore”

Just simply amazing to hear something like that. I really wish we could have seen his reaction when Ozzie called him and told him he would be a Raven. Must be a dream come true to play in the same secondary as your idol, Ed Reed.

Another quote I love

“I knew Paul Kruger before the draft. We worked out together, he is a hard worker and a great guy. To be able to be his teammate, I would give up the 2nd round pick to him because I think we will be great teammates together.”

What a guy.

Yeah

He’s already one of my favorites but I love nearly all our corners now. I am a big Fabian fan, and he was a huge steal for us at the cost of a 4th rd pick. Then we sign Foxworth who I went through high school with and then attended the same college, so I’m obviously a big fan. We keep Rolle, who I like and respect the hell out of, and sign Carr who seems like a good fit. Now Webb. Add in Walker, who I have a soft spot for, and we have some bad ass CB depth. Other then Walker, who has been alleged to have spit in some loser kickers mouth, they are all good dudes.

This will be a massive improvement over a glaring weakness from last year. Couple that with the improvement we should see from Flacco, Rice, O-Line (Young guys), and others, and I’m thinking you may be on to something with that 19-0 talk.

It's all coming together.

The secondary was our glaring weakness, and much like our offensive line last season, it is now a strength. I’m looking forward to seeing these guys fly around. Personally… I’m thinking that they are going to be awesome. They’ll be the best in the league. Last season, we led the league in interceptions. Throw in Foxworth, Carr and a healthy Landry, and they’re going to be down right amazing. I’m talking potential record-breaking amazing.

Webb is the real deal. I was not all that excited about him until I listened to those interviews. He has the Raven mentality and the heart of a champion. Playing with Reed will teach him to be a baller. He will be a much better player on the Ravens than on any another team.

Can't wait to see Webb return punts

I can hear ESPN’s Chris Berman doing the highlights, “…whoop, whoop!”

In his interview

He said that coaches did not say much to him about punts. They talked mostly of kick offs. I think we see Carr or Zbi doing the punts and Webb/Carr/Rice/Zbi doing kicks with Webb and Carr having the best chance.

If Chris Carr took the Titans return game

from 20th to #1 in the league last year, then he’s the guy for me/us!
