Writing Under True Name

Hey guys, this is Rexx, your lead writer for Baltimore Beatdown. I'll be switching to my true name, as this is the recommended way to take "ownership" of the stories I post. Some of the so-called "Main Stream Media" believe that bloggers use fake names or not their true real ones to avoid being held accountible for their facts, opinions or comments. This has never been true for anyone I've come in contact with at SB Nation, but since the Editor-in-Chief now recommends it, I will be switching over to my given name, Bruce Raffel.

There, I put it out there for all to see. I am not afraid to stand behind ANYTHING I've written and will now proudly place my name below my story's headlines as proof. I am in the process of trying to get some level of media credentials from the Baltimore Ravens and this would be a good time to make the switch.

Feel free to still use my nickname, Rexx, when making your comments, as we both will know who you are referring to. At the same time, I will probably be using that monker to post on other teams' blogs, just in case I pull a "MaLoR" and get into trouble while out and about!

I gues at some point if you want to run with the "big dogs" you have to....what is the rest of this saying....?

man, i’d never stand a chance putting my name on here. i’d live longer working as a security guard at Mondawman Mall. maybe one day i might come back as a Wade, Todd or Bruce…
