Ravens-Steelers Rivalry #1 in NFL
While there are a bunch of rivalries that you could look at over the years in the NFL, the current one between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers is the top one in the NFL right now, according to Vinne Iyer of the Sporting News. There has always been the Redskins-Cowboys, Giants-Eagles, Bear-Packers and Raiders-Chiefs, but none of them match the intensity of the two AFC North teams, as evidenced by their three epic battles this past season.

I completely agree
The Steelers Ravens games are the ones I get geeked up the most about, but even moreso, they are the ones I tend to worry the most about. This is because guys on both sides end up getting injured pretty bad during those games. For my money I’d rather watch a low scoring smashmouth game like Steelers/Ravens over a high scoring frou-frou game like Pats/Colts.
Not only that, but the games are generally for something important like first place in the division or the right to go to the superbowl.
Add in Crack-back Ward blocks, Bounties, James Harrison going ape-shit destroying everything in site, Ray Lewis going ape-shit trying to stab everyone in site, add all of that to a bag full of broken glass and a beaver and you’ve got yourself some felonies.
Football doesn’t get any better than that, (except for Ravens Fans), aside from winning the Superbowl (for Steelers fans)
"Damnit mom! You almost ran over Greg Lloyd!"
at an autograph signing back in 95. He walked out in front of our minivan, and my mom almost hit him. He apologized.

Responding to Vinny Iyer saying the Ravens-Steelers rivalry is the tops in the NFL right now, James walker says “The only thing these two teams lack is longevity.” I’m a bit unsure what he means by that. Is he saying that the rivalry hasn’t been around very long? If so, it’s a bit of an awkward turn of phrase.
Water covers 2/3 of the Earth's surface. Ed Reed covers the rest.
Ravens/Steelers don’t have the same time fighting each other as say the Bears/Packers. Since the Ravens were only created in 1996 their hasn’t been enough time to develop into a long term hatred.
That’s what I figured; I just thought a pro sports writer would be more concise when writing all of two sentences. The way it’s written now, it sounds like he believes the Ravens and Steelers will be disbanding within the near future.

Bengals Browns is taking over
Browns got the best football player to ever grace the field in Alex Mack and the Bengals just had a nasty draft.
Both the Ravens and Steelers do not have franchise QB’s. The Browns have 2 amazing franchise QB’s and I see both those teams combing for 6 of the next 10 superbowls.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
Our whole division is one big Rivalry
Browns- Ravens (I think you know why)
Bengals- Browns (State pride)
Ravens- Steelers (more in recent years with battling for the division title)
Bengals- Steelers (more in recent years, fuel added to the fire after 05 playoff game)
Browns- Steelers (I don’t know the reasoning as much, but I pick up that its pretty heated)
I guess the only one that would not really have any reason beyond a division rival is us (Bengals) vs. you. Can’t really come up with any reason other than Art Modell and Paul Brown. I don’t think that really transferred when you guys got to Baltimore though.
It's still a good season if we go 2-14 and beat the Steelers twice.
