Fabian Washington Interview

Fabian_washington-300x199_medium

Before anyone gets too excited on my abilities to get the tough interviews, this is not one I can take credit for. I was contacted by Dan Tierney from IMG Performance Institute, where Fabian is rehabbing from offseason surgery in his home town of Bradenton, Florida. IMG Academies consider themselves the most renowned multi-sport training and education institution in the world. They understand how to mold and shape properly balanced and well rounded athletes through support from world-class training, education, facilities, coaches and athletes.

While at IMG, Fabian answered some interesting questions about his opportunity to play for the Ravens and about his little known incredible 40 yard dash time at the 2005 NFL Combine that moved him from a possible 2nd or 3rd round pick into the first round. Hmmm....does that sound strikingly familiar to the story about Maryland's Darrius Heyward-Bey's rise to be the Oakland Raiders first pick at #7 in last month's NFL Draft. Ironically, Oakland was also the team that grabbed Fabian with the 23rd selection of the first round in the 2005 NFL Draft.

Im doing an interview with God tomorrow

Fabian is a down to earth guy. Knows who the leaders are on this team and respects that.

As for the 40 thing and DHB Rexx, Hey-Bey was projected to be a first round pick after the 2008 draft. I think if DHB ran a 4.4, he is still first round. 7th overall? Probably not. But still first round.

I think it looks alot better for a CB to run a 40 like that then a WR because it is harder to cover a WR with speed you cant match then it is for a WR to go against a CB with speed they cant match. If that makes sense.

Fabians Picture

Looks like a banner for the Subway 5 Dollar Footlongs.

I hate that commercial… and the United Way commercial with Eli Manning. I’ve seen them WAY too much!

"Did someone just burp in here?"

And that little girl definitely says “WHATTTTT” because she is like “Who the F*** is this guy, I though we were supposed to have Peyton!”

Yesterday on NFL Network, they literally showed the Bob Sanders and Santana Moss Unite Way commercials back to back during every commercial break for about 6 hours straight. I know them word for word now.

Fabian is fast!

I’ll never forget how he ran down Ahmad Bradshaw from behind. He started on the opposite side of the field and still managed to keep Bradshaw out of the end zone. They didn’t get a TD out of that drive either. That game sucked, but that feat by Washington was amazing.

I’m a big Fabian fan. I hope that he does well this season… Pagano needs to work on Fabian’s hands.

Yeah, speed is now one of our main attributes

at the corners. With Washington and Foxworth, not to mention Carr and now Webb. The guys in front of them and behind them can hit and the corners can run the others down.

Yeah..

I think Lardarius will play safety though…..

He might start off at corner, but Like Mattison said he will play safety.

And another thing we’ve got is Depth i really cant see us being bad this year, because even though a starter gets hurt at every position, we can still be competitive, we might not win, but we will be competitive.

Can't see Ladarius at safety anytime soon

Between Reed, Landry, ’Ruki and Zibby, Webb will have a lot of waiting to do at safety. Has a much better shot at CB.

Mattison said it himself....

I’m just going off of what the DC said……I dont think we really have a guy behind Ed….We have 3 SS, and 1 FS, now we have a guy behind Ed, who has range, and has all the attributes of a great FS.

But like i said i think he will start off at Corner, contrary to what Mattison said, but he will move to safety, because he played a majority of his career at safety.

Fabian Washington

I was really happy with Fabian’s play last year. His coverage was usually tight. However i wish his tackling was better. I know corners are usually small, but yards after the catch were painful in games against better teams. Especially the 3 Pitt games(and Tenn games). Thats not why we lost, but it contributed to the Steelers being a little better than us last year. Just one of the issues that will help us close the gap.

Anytime the QB has ime to throw...

…their WR’s will confuse the DB’s and find the open holes in the secondary. Can’t blame Fabian and others in the Steelers games, as the pass rush just couldn’t get Ben down.

Great interview...

This just goes to show how good Fabian will be this year, i’m the biggest fabian fan, and i wish he hangs on to the ball this year, because he could have had at least 4 picks last year.

And this just goes to show that Ed Reed is the best safety in the NFL……He makes our corners better, and i really dont see us giving up a lot of big plays this year.

Foxworth was a great addition as well…..Now we can be physical at the line, and not have to worry about getting beat deep.

Better

With the loss of Cory Ivy, big play numbers against should be down.
