Flacco would welcome Burress
Reportedly, the Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco would welcome the addition of troubled former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress if the team were to consider signing the new free agent.
Burress was released by the Giants after refusing a new contract offer. The offer, for around $26 million, included an agreement that Plaxico would drop his appeals of the fine and contract issues related to his suspension. Burress refused to do this and the Giants released him. Now the courts and a judge will determine his future in and out of football.
However, if and when he is reinstated to the NFL, the Ravens second year QB has reportedly said that he would like to have him as a target in the open field. That makes a ton of sense to me. First of all, Flacco is a no nonsense guy and is far from long winded. He sees a huge target that makes a difference to defenses when on the field and knows the benefit it would bring. The other issues are not his problem as he looks at it and he could prbably deal with his personality as well.
Until I have more specific information and reference responsibility, this specualtion is purely for discussion purposes only. However, Flacco's easy going approach to a touchy situation should be no surprise to any Ravens fan that has followed his amazing progression in the league, both on and off the field.

I am sure he would love to throw to Burress.
Who wouldn’t? A 6’5" guy who is strong and jumps higher then probably anyone in the league besides Fitzgerald.
I think Flacco is just that “brush it off your shoulder type guy.” If someone like Burress was unhappy with the way Joe was not getting him the ball, Joe would listen and take in what he has to say, and just say “Ok.” But then, Plax would have to deal with you know who, and I don’t think he would act up again.
I know, I know, everyone is tired of the “But we have Ray in locker room” thing, but it is true. Has anyone ever acted out line on this team when they very easily could have? No, and I am sure it is because they did not want to face Ray.
I am not sure if Joe is a “no nonsense” guy. I feel like that is Harbaugh and Ray’s position. Joe is just that “I’ll do my job, you do your job” type guy. I think Steve Hauchka may be a more no nonsense guy then Joe. Joe just gets done what needs to be done, but I see what you mean Rexx.
As for bring Plax in here, I am surprised to be hearing myself say that I do not like the move. And this is coming from someone who would not mind seeing Ocho Cinco or even T.O in purple. Plax is going to jail, and most likely for a good amount of time.
So where does that leave us when he gets out in 2 years or so? Signing a 33 year old and thinking about tomorrow rather then next week with our team’s future?
And to comment on Joe’s commitment and approach towards this team, I read and heard from numerous Ravens sources that Joe practically lives at the training facility. They were talking about the team’s volunteer off-season work out program saying that there were many players there working out, but went into detail about how a day has not gone by where Joe was not there at 6:30 am studying tape and talking with Cam and Hue Jackson.
That’s is what I love about him, he truly understands that his job is to play football, and he is doing everything he can to be the best QB. Ive really never seen a guy approach a challenge like he has. His comments on Plax are just a broad statement. He would love to have a body like Burress to throw to. But getting him in purple, just not the best move I think. Rather get a guy in the draft this year to build with Joe for the next 10-12 years.
And Rexx, is it fine if I do a write up sometime this week? I got a few things to clear up that I have not had time to sit down and type up.

Of course, it's welcome!
Just make sure I haven’t already posted that day.

Honestly, what the NFL needs to stop doing is giving douche bags like this a second chance! You had your chance making millions, and you chose to throw it away. You made your bed, now lie in it. I don’t feel one bit sorry for pieces of trash like this! I know this wan’t the point of the article, and I don’t mean to ramble, but it’s a subject that gets under my skin.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

And you are allowed to
As I feel the same way as you do. Like, what are you trying to prove by bringing a loaded gun into a club? I 100% guarantee he would not use a pistol to harm someone else in a club filled with hundreds of people. He did it to feel cool about himself, and I feel that this is a situation he does not deserve a 2nd chance. He has plagued the NFL with his actions very quietly prior to this incident, and I think this topped it off for Goodell.
Just get out of the game Plax, by the time you get out of prison, you will have nothing left.

I hear what your sayin
I really do, but I think he should be given an opportunity to show that what he did isn’t a trend and that he can become the professional he needs to be. Hey, wasn’t our Ray involved in some stuff back in the day. What if we closed the door on him back then?

Ray didn’t shoot himself in the leg with an illegal gun, get four tickets in one traffic stop, and then bitch out another cop that pulled him over for driving “like he’s going to kill somebody” all in half of an off-season. At some point, you’re going to have to concede that it’s become a trend.

What is worse?
The fact that he had a loaded gun in a club and shot himself?
Or the fact that he was wearing sweatpants in the club?
