SB Nation NFL Blog Stats: April 2009
Looking around SB Nation's NFL blogger's sites, I compiled some approximate statistics of what has been going around this network from the number of visits in April 2009, the key month leading up to the NFL Draft this past weekend. The numbers are mind-boggling and while I am very proud of the job we've done here at Baltimore Beatdown, it pales in comparison to what some of the blogs have been able to accomplish.
In April, Baltimore Beatdown ranked 25th out of the 32 NFL blogs, with over 52,000 visits. In comparison, the leader was Arrowhead Pride (KC Chiefs), with over 394,000 visits this month. No one came close, although the trio of Blogging the Boys (Dallas), Bleeding Green Nation (Eagles) and Mile High Report (Denver) all had at least 256,000 visits in April.
Overall, SB Nation's NFL blog have had over 3,756,000 visits in April alone, with over two days still remaining in the month! The AFC bloggers outpaced their NFC counterparts, 1,901,000 - 1,849,000, while the AFC West took top division honors, just squeaking by the NFC East, 766,000 - 705,000. Our AFC North came in 6th with 397,000 visits.
The amazing thing to remember is this is JUST for April 2009 alone. The NFL Draft weekend just passed was a great one by itself, but the overall numbers for the month is something to be proud to be a part of. Thanks to all who blogged, posted stories, FanPosts or just commented as true NFL fans!
NOTE: Since originally posting this mid-day yesterday until this morning, Arrowhead Pride added another 15,000 visits. Incredible job!
The opinions posted here are those of the administrator of this blog and his loyal readers. They are in no way official comments from the team, and should not be misconstued as such, even though he thinks he could do just as well or even a better job!

HAHAHA!!! Not Quite:
Just by the fact that you know who we are should have probably been a clue that we are NOT in last.
But when they start scheming us the way these guys did, and we weren't particularly ready for it, anything can happen."

Chargers blog was last, but...
…they are pretty new to SB Nation. Jets was next, and they are also relatively new. Then, came Carolina, Tampa, Houston, Atlanta and Green Bay. Then us. Oakland, sorry, had over 93,000 visits this month.
Rexx
I do not get how Chiefs are number 1
We have more comments in one story then they do on their whole front page.
What the hell is so interesting about them that makes them the most viewed? I am really confused by this.
Honestly, I thought the Steelers were going to be number 1. They post a story up, and in about 20 minutes there is 35 comments on it. Plus they are the greatest team to ever play football, right?
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.

The Chiefs have a lot of change going on
In the last 5 months they’ve fired a 20 year tenured GM, hired the hottest name on the GM market, fired their head coach, hired a head coach, traded for a franchise quarterback and picked third in the NFL Draft.
We’re pretty excited over at Arrowhead Pride. Plus, we’ve just been doing it a little longer. Rexx does some excellent work here. I check in occasionally (need to keep up on the Ravens, my Madden team).

It seems a bit like filler to say that you both fired somebody and then hired a replacement, although I guess ya’ll did have the option not to hire a new GM or head coach.
Water covers 2/3 of the Earth's surface. Ed Reed covers the rest.
True
Although it’s more about who it was. Former GM Carl Peterson was with the Chiefs for 20 years…his dismissal totally rejuvenated the fan base. It’s quite incredible actually.
