Baltimore Beatdown goes over 250K Visits!
Congratulations to all who have made the Baltimore Beatdown one of the top Baltimore Ravens blogs on the internet. This weekend, we went over a quarter of a million visits since I took over this blog in August 2007. Better than that, more than half of those visits have come in 2009 alone and we went over 50,000 visits for the first time ever this month and we still have a few days left!
In addition to the visits to the Beatdown, once someone is here and checks out other stories, makes comments, etc., it is called a Page View. In addition to the 250,000 visits, we've had over 428,000 pages views and along with the over 50,000 visits in April so far, we've received over 86,000 page views.
The quality and quantity of posting and comments are a huge reason that we have enjoyed this success. Lately, the agreements and relationship with Yahoo! Sports NFL team pages plus the link from SportsIllustrated.com has contibuted to the increased traffic at the Beatdown.
On behalf of everyone who puts this together over at SB Nation, I just want to thank you all for your posts, comments and great ball-busting banter. The time leading up to this past weekend's draft was full of insightful comments and we all certainly learned about the complexity and depth of knowledge that the Ravens must have within their resources.
The next few months of OTA's, Training Camp, Pre- and Regular Season games should be awesome as the Ravens try to repeat their surprising success and now have the full attention of the rest of the NFL.
Thanks again!
The opinions posted here are those of the administrator of this blog and his loyal readers. They are in no way official comments from the team, and should not be misconstued as such, even though he thinks he could do just as well or even a better job!

Congratulations, Rexx!
Don’t forget all of the little people when you strike it big. I want a shout-out!
So does that make us one of the most active blogs around SB Nation?
Let me guess who’s first…

Mile High Report and Bleeding Green Nation are very active blogs. They were the only ones to receive press passes to the draft.
To see the Visits and Page View stats...
….go to a blog, scroll all the way to the bottom and click on the little green icon for “Sitemeter” which will take you to the statistics page so you can see.
Some of the bigger and longer running blogs have 250K visits per month, so we’ve got a ways to go. I’d say we are in the bottom quarter of the league. However, not sure how we rate against the other sports, but the Orioles blog, Camden Chat, which has been around for a while, gets an insane number of hits.

Wow, this is crazy
I did not know about the sitemeter. It tells you who is on, visiting the site, and gives you their IP address! I could actually take the IP address they are visiting from, put it in my repaired IP Flooding program, and kick anyone off of the internet.
Hmmmmmmmm…….

MaLoR...I can hear you now...
in your basement in your boxers, head back, unshaven, crazed look in the eyes, shouting widly, “bah-hah-hah!”

I live in an apartment
On the 9th floor. No basements here.

March & April alone
accounted for over 100,000 visits and 170,000 page views, over one third of my entire total for the 20 months I’ve been doing this! Nothing compared to some of the other more established sites, but compared to my own past, it’s mind boggling the progress we’ve made here on the Beatdown.
I’d love to see stats on how it compares to other Ravens blogs. Anyone have any idea of how to research that? Thanks again to everyone who helped.

Congratulations, Rexx. If there’s any justice in the world, the Beatdown will compare favorably to those other blogs’ visits.
Water covers 2/3 of the Earth's surface. Ed Reed covers the rest.
Cause I am a part of it
The site took off once it received a little Mr MaLoR in its system!

Are there other legit blogs?
I mean I can’t find many that are updated regularly, and SB Nation is a huge endorsement for Baltimore Beatdown.
My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver
