TO Signs With Buffalo

According to ESPN's John Clayton, former Dallas Cowboys WR Terrell Ownes has reached an agreement to sign with the Buffalo Bills. The contract is reportedly for one year and $6.5 million.

More details will surely follow, with additional terms of the agreement. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of "behavior" clause in there to protect the Bills from future antics that have plagued Owens' career from San Fracisco to Philadelphia to Dallas and now to Buffalo.

Why Buffalo? They have a young QB, one that will not enjoy hearing TO complaining or yelling at him on the sidelines when he doesn't get the requisite number of balls thrown his way. The Bills are looked at as being in the basement of the AFC East and their hope of a post season appearance looks relatively dim compared to the other teams in the division.

If, as Owens' agent Drew Rosenhaus has said, a bunch of teams had contacted him about the prospect of acquiring his client, then pray tell why would TO sign so quickly with a team at the bottom of the playoff potential totem pole? Perhaps this was a take it now or leave it type of deal? Perhaps Drew Rosenhaus was posturing when he said other teams were interested in Owens? Who knows, but expect many more details to rise in this developing story.

The opinions posted here are those of the administrator of this blog and his loyal readers. They are in no way official comments from the team, and should not be misconstued as such, even though he thinks he could do just as well or even a better job!

I would have liked to see how Rexx Ryan handles him in NY but I like the move by Buffalo. It will cause excitement amongst a fan base that’s desperate for it. I have a feeling the small market of the team and less media attention will benefit him and he may actually prosper and hopefully for his case maybe finish his career on a high note, but with his past antics I highly doubt it. Good reaction here: http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80f233b7&template=without-video-with-comments&confirm=true

Owens is gonna be the reason the Bills finally move to Toronto.

R.I.P Buffalo

how can anyone even think of bringing to in? he is the leagues cancer. all he does is leave the death of a team with potential behind him. he is going to tear buffalo apart

I love TO's agent...

Drew really???!? TO had a bunch of teams interested in signing him??? Cause the Buffalo deal comes as a surprise cause the only two teams I ever heard mentioning him were Oakland and San Fran…. It amazes me how agents can spin shit.

TO had so much talent…and he himself has ensured he will never play a Superbowl game.

Gotta love the combo, though,..

…of TO and Lee Evans. However, something tells me that Trent Edwards will not be able to spread the ball around enough to keep both of them, much less TO happpy all season.

IF that combo can some how work it will at least make Lee Evans better because of the double teams TO usually gets but it depends on if teams are still scared of him.

i just can’t see TO in 10 degree weather exhaling frozen breath in a parka. Add those miserable conditions to a game where he doesn’t get the frozen ball and I see total melt down. I don’t see an outwar meltdown, I see a head down, feel sorry for himself, sent to Siberia meltdown. This will bring the media to Buffalo and add a few Bills games to better time slots but it won’t help this poorly coached team.

sure it will cause excitement

i think this is was a big mistake. sure the bills needed to shake things up, but i dont think they needed to do that AND assist in their team being torn apart. TO is a cancer, it doesnt matter what terms that he goes anywhere for, he is still selfish and doesnt care if the team wins or loses. Rest in Peace 2009 Buffalo Bills

If the Bills fans couldn't handle McGahee...

…How in the world are they going to handle Owens? I can see it all now:

TO will go on one of his drop-happy streaks (especially since he has Edwards throwing to him). He’ll get flak from the Buffalo media (who don’t pull any punches), and then he’ll spout off about how Edwards is too young and how he misses Romo. It will end badly since Buffalo’s coaching staff if desperate for a playoff berth and will probably bench him. The coaching staff will be fired after they miss the playoffs, and TO’s contract will not be extended.

Game over, TO.

I hate the fact that

They brought T.O in mainly because of economics. In this recession we got going on now, even the NFL is hurting. And a shitty franchise like the Bills are losing money and popularity. T.O brings more media coverage, which means more people watching, which will ultimately mean more money. I heard on ESPN that the NFL and its partner networks are going to give the Bills 1 or 2 primetime games just because of T.O.

I will say it again, T.O will be the reason the Bills finally move to Toronto.

You have to hate losing more than you love winning.

No Middle Ground

This is either going to end well with the Bills making the playoffs or blow up in their faces and lead to the move to Toronto. I could see either happening, but I think it is going to be one extreme or another.

Either way

this is a one and done thing with Buffalo for TO. This is his “audition” about how he can behavfe and be part of a team and so he’ll be a good boy until he gets that next multi year deal, and then all bets are off again!

My prediction

T.O. does enough with Buffalo to sign a multiyear contract next year……..

…..with the Toronto Argonauts.

Total media coverage is the source of all Owens’s evil powers. I’ll be camping out at his house; the next time I snag a picture of him going to the shitter, I’ll make sure to update ya’ll with a front page news story.

Trent Edwards pitched the idea

of adding TO to the Bills. I heard that today and was shocked. Be careful, Trent, what you wish for!

Maybe he's thinking

Any publicity is good publicity? Regardless of how this season goes, for better or worse, Trent Edwards will be a household name by the time he comes up for his contract in 2010.

Dumb Buffalo Eskimos don’t know what that got themselves into…They should be arrested for soliciting an NFL hooker. I bet Buffalo asked TO to pull his car into the alley for a quicky. Wait until Spetmenber when the camera lights flip on and Buffalo’s ownership is caught with their pants around their ankles. To add to their troubles, I bet they don’t purchase protection.

T.O is going to not only demand for the ball

He is going to demand for the snow to melt at all times.
