Why did Mike Tomlin pick the Ravens?
I’m still trying to figure this one out. According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Steelers‘ head coach Mike Tomlin picked the Ravens to win the AFC North in the 2009 season.

probably because the ravens got to the AFC title game and have a good young QB
Although I think losing their defensive coordinator, a top linebacker and safety and two (old) starting CBs and starting center are all bad news for the purple gang
I think the D nose dives this year, but we’ll see.

Correction:
You hope the D nose dives this year.

of course I hope so
when LeBeau leaves I’ll be worried for the Steelers D.
I’m sure it will still be tough to run on the ravens, but I don’t see you guys being 2nd in most categories again.

You are right!
I see the Steelers being 2nd in most categories, Ravens will be 1st

It's all about his "Underdog" mentality
He’s just trying to motivate his team and convince them that they’ll still the underdogs even with a SB Trophy. Not!

Its more to do with the whole don’t assume you are the best becasue of what has happened. He wants the team to stay humble. He picked the browns to win last year.

and you think...
…anyone, including the Browns and the Steelers, fall for that sh*t for one second!?

Steeler P.O.V
I think being defending champs its easy to get ahead of yourself, I think this is just Tomlin trying to keep us grounded a little. Last year was last year. Ravens look strong heading into this season
Im being wise not to underestimate you guys. Lets go season ‘09 cant wait for Pittsburgh vs B’More!

Agreed
but make no bones about it, everyone knows Pittsburgh is the favorite, including the Steelers players, no matter what Tomlin says. Besides, you have to feel it inside that you are the best, in order to win. There is no place in football for thinking otherwise.

Who really cares what Tomlin thinks?

I do and so should you
considering he’s the best coach in the division.

That’s really not saying much. Marvin Lewis is a total bust. Romeo Crennel was shit-canned and replaced by Man-gina, who was also just shit-canned. Tomlin’s only real competition is Harbaugh, a former Special Teams coach with one year of head coaching experience under his belt.
So, Tomlin has an edge over a wash-up, two screw-ups, and a noobie. Serious accolades are in order! Congratulations?

Oh, good. I was afraid a Steelers fan wouldn’t have the reading comprehension, nor the attention span, to read through my handful of sentences, let alone comprehend them. But you and your sentence fragment and run-on sentence paraphrasing exactly what I had just said are just as deserving of serious accolades as Omar Epps. I mean Mike Tomlin. Congratulations to you, as well, showtime.
