Ravens @ Steelers: 2nd Half 'Open Thread'

Hopefully, what you just saw at the end of the first half will not happen again. Defensive Coordinator Greg Mattison should know better than to blitz a corner, leaving Santonio Holmes uncovered, much less leave Frank Walker on single coverage without help. In order to come back and win this game, we need to shut down the run game and hope Ben gives one or two away to us. At the same time, we've got to stop giving up the ball when we have a chance to score.

Great stat, 0-5 for us when trailing at intermission. Ouch.

Ozzie screwed us by being unprepared at DB all year and DID NOTHING to fix it. Frank Walker has single handedly killed this team. The D-coord is an idiot who makes the same mistakes every big game. CAM is chicken shit in big games and thinks there is some magic to keeping the games close so we can ultimately get beat in the last 2 minutes. This time it’s over by 1/2.

No Troy P and we are playing patty-cake on offense. I would be stretching the hell out of the Pitt. D. kelly Washington and Heap disappeared after there big plays so Cam could get back to his Rice love affaire. I can’t stand this team. Big talker against the Lions. Friggin sheep against men.

Rice is ripping them up and our defense is starting to get that pressure I spoke about. One more score then another turnover should do it. Way to control the clock.

Classic horrible Ravens decisionmaking, clock management, play calling, receiving, penalty getting, losing your mind type of football. Two TD’s down the drain on a stupid hold and a piss poor catch miss. then Cousins, who gets in fights at Training Camp clocks a Steeler right in front of the head ref!? He should be cut from the team on that boneheaded play.

Flacco needs to know he should just throw it up to the goal line on that play as it’s 3rd and 30 and even an interception is okay at that point but you might get the PI call or the lucky catch!!!!!

Typical Ravens hurting themselves too much! Also, stop with the only rushing three or four, as we were very lucky with that pass to Mwelde Moore! Need a long drive without stupid conservative plays to eat up clock and get seven.

You just know f we keep Ben within a FG, he will do waht he always does, especially against us. So if it comes down to the last seconds, don’t be disappointed if we blow it.

Flacco still hasn't learned

to get RID of the ball! Plus Michael Oher got bull rushed back into his own QB by the other rookie, Hood on that sack!

These penalties are proof positive that we are just so undisciplined and it wasn’t just because of Billick, it is because we have too many “individuals” on our team.

Oh yeah, that was an inclomplete pass, not a fumble, as Mason never totally had control. Perhaps D-Will will take his place and catch the game winner!

by raven on Dec 27, 2009 4:02 PM EST reply actions

You just knew this team is not ready to "steal" a win

Flacco’s so calm demeanor is a double edged sword and he takes way too long to make his reads and decisions. Cam’s decision to run up the middle on 2nd down caused us to be in an obvious passing down on third, allowing Steelers to pin their ears back and rush Flacco. On the fourth down play, Flacco only has to make sure he doesn’t get sacked even if it meant throwing the ball up. He did it earlir and still hasn’t learned. Just not a SB QB yet, and might never be.

See, I told you

if we let them hang around they’d win. Ben is able to do it, while Joe is just not. Ben does it regularly and Joe has, well, Joe has NEVER done it. NEVER. EVER. Blame it all you want on anyone else, our inability to win those close games at the end all season is more on Flacco’s droopy shoulders than anyone else.

aka 'Rexx'

by Bruce Raffel on Dec 27, 2009 4:04 PM EST reply actions

And you make it sound as if he NEVER. EVER. will.

Give it a rest, Flacco didn’t get called for holding, he didn’t drop a TD pass, he didn’t blow our last shot with another penalty.

You’re being a real douchebag, I think you should stop. Anyways good game Ravens, I really don’t wish you guys make playoffs, cause that means we do :)

This is Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu getting knocked around by the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii yesterday...
Minutes later, Troy caught the ocean going over the middle and smacked it right in the mouth. The ocean fumbled, Troy recovered and ran it into the endzone. The ocean never messed with Troy again.

Agreed.

Try and be respectful. Or at least not a retarded troll.

Maybe the winds of fortune have decided to favor us again. Just in time for the playoffs.

Great game Ravens fans.

Again, the Steelers Ravens game lives up to the hype.

Too bad about the penalties, but those were good calls today, on both sides. They were all pretty blatant.

Maybe the winds of fortune have decided to favor us again. Just in time for the playoffs.

by svenhoek on Dec 27, 2009 4:14 PM EST reply actions

Uhhh, they were.

No one over here complained, and not all my friends are Steelers fans. The general consensus was the Ravens were imploding, not that the refs were screwing them.

Maybe the winds of fortune have decided to favor us again. Just in time for the playoffs.

by svenhoek on Dec 27, 2009 4:16 PM EST up reply actions

they did some imploding, yes

They should have won despite the calls but they screwed themselves out of that, no doubt.

All the same, there were non-calls on the Steelers that get called on the Ravens 9 times out of 10, and there was definitely some well applied acting from the Steelers.

GO AWAY STEELER QUEERS

you get all the calls and it’s obvious..so go hump each other and gather your road side coal.

NFL=Steeler love affair

Suggs didn’t even touch the guy in the back. Kelly Washington had a regular block away from the ball. A little jersey but nothing worth flagging.

A little jersey
