According to CNN,

Chris Henry has died. :-(

This is really, really sad. What is up with young NFL players dying tragically this year? First McNair, now Henry.

Man, his passing is so tragic

I never had a problem with the man at all. Yes, he had some legal issues, but he really was making huge strides towards turning his life around. 26 years alive on this earth is way too short. I pray for his kids, but not sure how I feel about his so called “wife” who was driving the truck when this happened.

RIP Chris Henry

you gotta think she goes to jail for this.

she drove in a manner that flung him out of the back of a truck to his death. I would hope that in the United States of America that would be illegal.

Yup, will most likely get charged with involuntary manslaughter for driving recklessly and ultimately killing him.

These people are crazy.

This is the woman he credits with turning his life around. They are having a domestic dispute. She is trying to get away from him in a pickup truck. He leaps into the bed. She is scared or angry enough to drive violently enough to fling him out of the truck. He was found 1/2 mile away from the house so he hung on for a while. Then she leaves him in the road to be found by strangers. that is just f..ng nuts. Can’t imagine what kind of rage they had to do that. So sad people can’t be civil.

Yea, I was going to be quick to say F*** her

But didn’t want to offend anyone. Thanks for basically saying it first.

i mean we don't know what happened yet

sad as it makes me to say it, we might cringe to hear the details come out in the next few days. she may have been running away from him and he may have been trying to hurt her—which would be consistent with him jumping in the back of the truck. I hope that isn’t what happened but I’m sure that angle is being checked out.

Agreed about her actions but also wish his family the best

It was so sad seeing Chad talk about him this morning. As much flack as he gets I’ve always been a fan because he still plays the game right and I have to admit it made me emotional seeing his hurt. I heard that Chris was making a lot of progress and Carson actually dubbed him “Randy Moss Jr.” because of his turn around. Sad day and what ever the circumstances were between his wife and him I hope they both find peace because unfortunately a life was lost and the cause of it is still important but at least for today should take a back seat.

Getting thrown from a pick-up with your “wife” driving and leaving the scene.

When Chris said his life had done a “360” I knew it wouldn’t end well.

Uugh what a way to go. Sorry to the Bengal fans/families.

Didn't know he meant a

360 with one and a half summersault, eh? Ouch, bad taste.

I also heard that women on the radio say she heard Henry had been stabbed before running after her as she drove away. But then again, who knows that woman’s sources as she loves to act on air like she knows more than we do.

Just feel bad

for everyone involved, except maybe the fiance, don’t exactly know her story as of yet so I wont make judgment. It seemed like the man was doing well from all his troubles and even if he was still doing the wrong things, death should not be a consequence. R.I.P. Chris Henry, besides rooting for the Ravens, this might make me a Bengals fan for the rest of the season. I love Marvin, Chad, and Carson, and now it would be nice to see them win some games for Chris Henry.

IF it weren’t for us taking the division, I’d turn Bungle fan for January/Feb.. Ohio is suffering in every which way and needs a little boost.

Kind of messed up that this all started with the Ravens

They were talking earlier today that if he had not broken his arm against us, he would have been in Cinci and not in NC where this all happened.

I've said it here before

if we don’t make the post season, I will root for the Bengals. AFC North, other than Pitt and Cleveland is okay and you gotta root for Marvin Lewis.

Agree

I said coming into the season that if we don’t win the division or make the playoffs, I would root for cinci. Have such a great deal for Marvin, how much of an impact he had with us and how he approaches the game. For a team that has had such little success and made some dumb personel moves, keeping Marvin was the best decision thy team made in the last 10 years.

marvins had 1 winning season in all that time w/ palmer, chad, whosyourmamma and many higher draft choices. just sayin’.

with the entire pre-game at NFL games dedicated to the military, national defense and pride how come we never take a moment of silence for all the servicemen who are killed everyday overseas. just wondering. i guess that’s not good for recruiting.

The same reason

they don’t release injury reports, only deaths. It would totally amaze the general public the huge numbers of those injured in battle and demoralize everyone about this worthless “war.”

feel for all the dudes in uniforms. gotta be good soldiers regardless of which politicians are trying to get you killed for whatever reasons. thank goodness there are so many levels of government in place to prevent….oh.

by raven on Dec 21, 2009 2:21 PM EST reply actions

I might regret this

but here it goes. I am sorry the man died nobody deserves that .He would not have died if he was not arguing and chasing his wife to do who know what to her.
But to give a moment of silence to a guy that was in trouble with the law 5 times and suspended by the league 3 times is absurd. Everyone is going to say he was turning his life around! After the first or maybe 2nd time you can say that but not the 5th and possible 6th before he died.

As someone else stated in an earlier post we should be giving a moment every game to those who serve our country and thanking them everyday.
