Ravens @ Bengals: 2nd Half 'Open Thread'

After easily the worst half of the 2009 season, the Baltimore Ravens find themselves at the shortend of a 17-0 score. Nothing short of an amazing turnaround won't save this team from dropping the season series to Cincinnati, who is beginning to look to just be a better team than he Ravens.

Post your frustrations and thoughts here for the rest of the game.

Swept by Cincy?

Unpossible.

Ryan Clark remarked that Coach Tomlin once asked whether he wanted to be the nail in the defense, or the hammer. "I said, 'I want to be the hammer coach.'"

So far you guys are 0-1 against Cinci as well. So worry about them sweeping you guys rather than what they are doing to us.

Can't use Ngata's absence as an excuse

#1. He doesn’t play offense
#2. He was there when they beat us the first time.

Draft corners next year?

I would be a horrible drafter and was one of the ones clamoring for a WR this offseason. Does Newsome daft corners or are these guys who are in development and project an upside?

Newsome drafts best players available.

So next year when us fans want Corners and WR, Newsome will continue to draft OLB and Guards.

I think the Ravens...

just need to implode on the field. We known for weeks that our defense was in serious trouble in regards to the defensive backs. Hopefully this will stop the nonsensical notion that we have a chance for the playoffs. We have earned our third place in the division…

On the bright side, this season for the Bengals certainly ensures that Mike Brown will never get a GM so once this season is over, we can look forward to another 10+ years of the Bengals below .500

Super Bowl. People have got to move beyond the notion that
running the football leads to the championships. It doesn’t. If
you just look over the last 10 years, it doesn’t. There are times
– we all want to run the football – but you don’t have to run
the football to win as much as people think." —Cameron

by giving the kicking job to Gano. Or anyone for that matter,as Hauschka has had more than enough chances to prove that he is just not an NFL caliber kicker.

He played at NCState

and while he had a better camp than Gano, Gano kicked 24 of 26 last year at Florida State, mostly under pressure, which you just can’t gauge in camp and pre season. You can just look at Hauschka and he looks so nervous that he’s about to puke. He just is not able to handle the pressure. Time to cut our losses and move on to someone else. If not Gano, no not Stover (even if he was available) what about former Tampa kicker, Matt Bryant?

Flacco throws have been clearly off target

all day and doesn’t it seem he’s trying to force it into Mason when he’s obviously covered? Also notice how Cincy is getting pressure w/ just four rushers?

They have won this game just like they won last time. Both times we played horrible and you just have to give them credit for controlling our poor play. Sad thing is, if we hqad only played just average, we could have won both games. But we didn’t and are just an average team this year.
