Jamal Lewis Considers Himself a "Raven"
According to ProFootballTalk.com, the Cleveland Browns' Jamal Lewis is tired of all the retirement talk based on his earlier comments and when he does retire, he'll consider himself a Raven, as they were the team that gave him his first shot and "where I pretty much did all my work."

Gotta admit
as much as he stutter steps now and did so in his last years here in Baltimore, when he was in his prime, he was an absolute beast with the ball in his hands and seeing that 295 yard performance in person was one of the most complete offensive outputs in a single game by an individual I can think of.
Don’t forget he also had a 65 yard TD run called back due to a holding penalty in that game, so he could have had 360 yards, a total that would probably stand for a long long long time.

Jamal was
an intricate part of our Superbowl team. The reason he dropped off so precipitously, like most Running Backs, is that he left it all on the field. The guy deserves to be in the Raven’s Ring of Honor.

So far.......
Ray rice will surpass him in about 4 more years when he is putting up 2000+ total yards and 10 tds each season. Much like he is going to do this season.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
So far though....
RB is the most brutal position on the team. No other position is expected to do so much, with so much physical punishment. Just look how every single RB (except the freaks like Barry Sanders…and you could make the argument his running style kept him healthy) hits that wall were their production just drops like a rock.
Off the field, with exception to that drug issue thing that never made any sense to me at all as to what actually happened, I hear Jamal has been really good with his money and investments. Apparently the guy is a bit of a fiscal guru. I wish his departure from Baltimore was a bit more smoother, but I think the guy deserves a great welcome if he ever comes back.

Rice ain't passing Lewis' rushing yards
anytime soon. Lewis had that rare combo of brutal force and blazing speed in the prime of his career.

My favorite RB. Not used properly by Billick. Should have been given the ball more with pitches and screens. He was best with a full head of steam and not dancing behind the line. He was also screwed out of TD’s as Billick passed on 1st and goal from the 1.
I’ll never forgive Billick for sitting him in the second half of the Cleveland game (i think Cleveland) when we locked up the division that day. Billick said he wanted to save him for the Playoffs. Billick then plays him against the Steelers the following week ( what? a much harder run defence) and Jamal falls just short of the record. He would have had it is Billick let him run out the Cleveland game and not run in the totally meaningless game vs. Pitt. This made no sense.
Jamal and Stover should go in together side by side. Ring of Honor. They carried us. Jamal was even more amazing than we realize. Look at the pass offense he had supporting him all those years. He then had to go through the same crap in Cleveland. Man he’s been through it. I want him to sit with me a t a Ravens game one day. Cool SOB’s need to hang together ; )
His mom and sister sat in my section
At the concession stand after getting their food, I swear they stutter stepped through the line back to their seats!
