Ravens Game Release: Week 10
Thanks to the great PR Department of the Baltimore Ravens, here is their Weekly Release for this week's game on Monday Night Football. There are 27 pages of news, notes and stats, including one huge disappointing number, which is the five straight MNF games the Ravens have lost in a row. Time to change that number against the Cleveland Browns.

We tried out two kickers today.
Former NFL kickers Mike Nugent (New York Jets) and Billy Cundiff ( Dallas Cowboys) tried out for the Ravens at their Owings Mills training complex Tuesday, but no signings were announced by the team.
Steve Hauschka has made eight of 11 field-goal tries in his first season as Ravens kicker but had critical misses against the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 18 and the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Both missed kicks hooked left. The kick against the Vikings was to win the game as time ran out.
“Steve works really hard; he’s really got a lot of talent. He’s our best option,” coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday night on his weekly radio show on WBAL.
This is the second time Nugent has tried out for the Ravens.

I liked Nugent
He was great at Ohio State and has decent NFL experience. I’d have more confidence in him than Hauschka.

What about Nick Novak?
The former Terp. I would definitely approve of that. He had a great leg and has some NFL experience, more than the shankapotomus we have here.

Shankapotomous
LOL. Can’t wait for the signs at the stadium. He even has the baby face.

Houshka has already missed more big FG’s than Stover did in his entire career. I don’think Stover has missed this year. He was 4 for 4 2 weeks ago. I agree he was a weak leg on kick offs but we could have used someone else for that.

No, two roster spots for kickers is ridiculous
Stover was not and still is not the answer for our questions. We released him so we could have someone to place kickoffs into the end zone and make the long FG’s, and so far have barely one part and definitely not the other. I still say Gano was the answer but obviously the Ravens do not think so. I totally would say we have zero to lose by giving Nugent the chance to improve both areas right away.

But
Does that mean we just let Hauschka go? I just do not see Ozzie and the coaches giving up on someone who they have worked with so much to be their kicker for years.

No worry
If we let Hauschka go, no one’s picking him up.

yes, 2 roster spots for kickers…isn’t that what got us to 11-5? why not. the kicking game/field position is HUGE.

Florida State might. He tends to kick wide left. Between his kicks and Forida States’s history of wide right, he should split the uprights.
