Kick Returner changed

According to the Sun the Ravens have given the return job to Lardarius Webb and taken it away from Chris Carr to try and get some life into the return game.  Apparently the opening kickoff fumble by Carr may have helped him lose the job.  The fumble against the Patriots resulted in a field goal and started the game off on a bad note.  I hope this does help the return game get better because it has seemed to have very little production yet this year.

I made a slight correction

in the spelling of Lardarius’ first name (LaRdarius, not Ladarius. I heard tyhis yesterday and also heard that for now Carr will remain the punt returner but don’t be surprised if that changes as well. Remember that Webb dropped a punt and a kickoff return in preseason that cost him the chance to start the season off as the returner.

Webb looked faster and more elusive in his returns last week. Carr looks like he is running straight ahead and now spends more time thinking about holding onto the ball, constantly adjusting it while running that he is not effective anymore. He also has been a bust at CB so far.

See, I think Carr can be alright in punt returner. He is shifty and actually has good hands. He has yet to muff the ball on punts (knock on wood) so that is good.

But Webb has some serious speed and I feel could do big things back there on kick offs. Hopefully he will only be returning them at the beginning of the game or after halftime, if you catch my drift.

You have to hate losing more than you love winning.

thanks for the correction haha and I do remember the preseason fumbles of Webb and that makes me a little worried but I think he’ll do alright… Hopefully.

I'd like to see either

Zbi or ’Ruki on punt returns. Both did well for their college teams in that role.

Or Reed

He is ranked 99 on punt AND kick returns on Madden.

Good move

I have seen nothing in any Chris Carr return to show any sign of explosiveness. He looks very unimpressive and this was a good move. Ledarius will need some practice but I believe he is much better suited for the job. Carr is also a non-entity in pass defense. Ultimately a bad pick up by the Ravens.

funny how Tenn. fans are blasting Fisher for letting Carr go. i don’t think webb is much better. he can’t hold onto the ball.

Great…the ravens pay Carr a lot of money b/c of his KR/PR abilities and now he is not doing them. Meanwhile we let the only competent KR/PR (Leonhard) we have had since Jermaine Lewis go b/c of salary cap space. Brilliant!!

I don't know about Leonhard being the best since Lewis

Figurs was pretty good at returning kick/punts.

Figuers was explosive but would make bad decisions. The first pittsburg game last year he was solely responsible for starting in bad field position 2-3 times in one game with a rookie QB. He kept coming out of the end zone only to be tackled at the 10 or 15.
