Ravens Re-Sign Prescott Burgess
Due to the season ending thigh injury to linebacker and Special Teams ace Brendon Ayanbadejo, the Baltimore Ravens raided the New England Patriots Practice Squad for former Ravens Prescott Burgess, signing him back to the team.
I really liked Burgewss, and he was one of the hardest hitters in Training Camp this summer. He knows this defense and with both Tavares Gooden hurting plus Ayanbadejo's injury that put him on IR, we needed another inside linebacker in addition to Dannell Ellerbe, who got a decent amount of playing time and actually played pretty well fro his first action of the season. Rookie Paul Kruger got in for a few plays and that should increase as his knowledge of the system and opportunities continue to arise.
For now, Burgess should help out on Special Teams but depending on the health of the rest of the linebacking corps, his playing time could easily increase. Welcome back, Prescott!

With Ayenbadejo out
I was kind of hoping we would take a chance on Derrick Brooks. But then I realized how big of a Special Teams help Brendon was and Prescott can do a better job there.
At least Ellerbe gets to keep his spot. Love that guy.
You have to hate losing more than you love winning.
Special Teams
Boy, do we need help on special teams this year. Carr proved that last game to me. Hopefully he can do a better job.

*Solution*
Lets trade one of our wins to the Browns for Josh Cribbs. Its a win-win situation. They get a win and don’t go 0-16, and we get the dynamic return guy we’re lacking and will still have enough wins to take the division.
Im all for it.
They can have the next match-up. We’ll just enjoy an additional bye-week. lol.

Webb should be returning kicks
The 1st one he got he took back for what? 40 yards or something like that. Chris Carr really has not been getting it done. Its time to put Webb back their more often and when rolle comes back, cut carr
FEAR THE NEVERMORE DEFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you guys keep the late round pick?
Because that would be like stealing from the Pats, which I like.
The pick you got from New England in the trade, I should of clarified.

No, the Pats actually cut Burgess
and then re-signed him to the Practice Squad. The trade had a games-played clause in it, so we get nadda.

They're sneaky...
I bet Belichek had this up his sleave the whole time. He seems to always be one turn in front of all the other cars, even if he has to cut corners to get there. They might have similar intentions for one of our former OLB’s, Bruce Davis, who they just signed. Although they don’t play us this season so maybe not.

According to Burgess he gave them nothing
In an interview he said he wasn’t asked anything about the Ravens & since NE put him on the Practice Squad they would “have to treat him better than that if they wanted anything outta him”.
