Oher or Gaither

I think Oher has been doing really well so far at LT, and was wondering what everyone else though about keeping him at LT when Gaither gets back from injury. Based on their size I think that Oher might be better suited for LT and Gaither for RT because of his huge size and run blocking. Obviously I might get the "Ogden was 6'9" at LT, but well, I think all of us Ravens fans might be a little spoiled because of that. Also I just think it would be kind of cool because of "The Blind Side" where Oher kind of says (I haven't read the book yet, but I remember reading this part of it somewhere) that he is looking forward to playing Dwight Freeney in the pros, and towards the end of the book Freeney responds, "I'll be waiting". And since we play the Colts pretty soon, I just think that would be awesome.

While I totally agree, I think Gaither will be

starting as long as he’s here, which might not be too much longer. However, I’d rather see Oher get his initial experience and enjoy success on the easier tackle position than have to face elite pass rushers every week, as while I like Oher over Gaither, Jared has held his own pretty well so far. It will just end up being a money issue at some point.

Yea, I don't mind Gaither starting at LT

He is just as effective as Oher and brings some different things to the table. Gaither is such a big body, that it is hard to get around him and he is really, really fast for someone his size. Amazing athlete.

Oher is much more stronger than Gaither and just manhandles people. Every game this year, I feel like he has thrown the DE to the ground. He did it to Jared Allen.

It would be amazing to have Jared playing LT and Oher playing RT on this team for years to come, but Gaither is too good to not get a big contract. And we have some other players we need to resign before we give Gaither alot of money.

Limp and dangling.

Oher would be amazing at LT

I think Oher is much more talented than Gaither and would be a much better fit at LT. I agree with Bruce though as long as Gaither is in town he will have that spot. I’d just like to tell Ozzy Newsome what a great pickup he made in the draft for Oher especially since at first I really questioned the pick

Oher is much more suited for the RT postion. He likes to go after and man handle people, which the RT postion is all about. Gathier has quick and and a strong core. You cant bull rush him cause he keeps you at bay with his long arms, and you can’t get around him with speed moves because he’s so larger. Keep Jared at LT and Oher at RT for as long as possible.

Perhaps for now, but...

….Oher has that nasty streak that all great LT’s have and need. Oh, make no bones about it, Oher is the LT of the future. Zero doubt.

We were 3-0 with Gaither protecting the left

and when Oher was on the right.. that is the best combo for us right now. Although Yanda is doing gr8, Gaither and Oher were dominating on their sides in the beginning of the season. Hope he’s back when Denver gets here!
