Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Good Game, Folks

I really, honestly thought you guys had this one.  I'm not sure whether or not we deserved to win, or that you guys deserved to lose, but this was one of the craziest games I've ever watched.  I was exhausted just from watching it by the time it was all said and done.

We'll try to help you guys out by winning our other two games against the AFC North (@ Pittsburgh next week and vs. Cincy in December) if you guys do your best to slap the Packers and Bears around when you get your hands on them.

Good luck the rest of the way, folks!

Seriously, wow

I have nothing but respect for your team. I appologize for any ‘’Vikings Fan’’ that comes on here and talks shit. You are bound to get a few. I know how lucky we were to win tonight, I would not be surprised at all to see you in the big dance if we are so fortunate to see you again. A hell of a game to you and please bring the thunder to Green Bay and Chicago as we will reciprocate to Pitt and Cincy this year for you. Our teams are total coin flips…have a good night.

you guys have “it”. you finish. we have a lonnnng way to go. we are always “close”. we are always soooo far away at the same time. i’d trade ray lewis and ed reed for your D-end.

How 'bout Ed and Ray

for Allen and Winfield (DB)? Can you believe we’re offering those two and probably the Vikings wouldn’t even do that! My how times have changed!

Wow… let’s not go too far now. The sky isn’t falling yet.

You're overreacting...

I would never make that trade. It’ll only be a matter of time before Reed gets hot and Lewis is still making plays that most men ten years younger than him aren’t making.

Ray is on pace for 140 tackles.

They ain’t the problem folks. It’s the fact that we thought guys like Foxworth, Gooden, and Fabian were long-term solutions as starters. We’re slowly coming to the painful realization that they may not be.

If Suggs got 10 sacks and

Trevor had 10 like he did in 2006, then you’d see a much better CB duo, like we expected.

yes but

I think you’re excusing them too much. They don’t just give up separation when the pass rush is slow, they give up QUICK separation. Whenever the camera angle shifted to reveal the coverage on a passing play, Fabian would be like 5 yards away from his man. That is abysmal. They didn’t bench him for nothing—they agreed with me. He was sucking.

i am king at over-reacting. what i don’t want to be lost in this is that i am a HUGE ray and ed fan. i have just seen way too much of what a defence centered on them can do. 2nd fiddle every BIG GAME. i guess it’s nice to be top 10 most years in some categories and in the standings (at times) but when your shooting for a championship it’s not good enough. that’s where I am. this franchise and fan base is way toooo good to not have been in at least 1 more SB. we deserve better. we can only hold those in key positions responsible. DE, LB, Safety is were our money is. They have not performed like champions.

Congrats to the Vikings and fans

Their fans were among the best we’ve encountered. At the same time, there isn’t the passion of a rivalry that there is in-division, so they get a pass and so do we. But they seem very knowledgeable and while they can talk smack, they do what we here at The Beatdown respect and that is to back it up. Other blogs ought to take a lesson from them.

Thanks again to Daily Norseman and their fans and see you in the Super Bowl?

Still miss Bud Grant, one of my all-time favorites. His teams never needed an indoor stadium, or heating elements on the sidelines…..only kidding, fans. But, seriously, Bud Grant was a great coach!

Oh, his teams NEEDED heating and a dome, but...

Bud just wouldn’t let them have it! He was THE coach and no one challenged him.

I bleed Ravens purple, but have been a Vikings fan ever since Norm Van Brocklin went there after the Iggles won the NFL championship. And, BUD Grant; yes, he was The Man!!

If it ain’t us I’d like to see the Vikes run it. It was tough watching them lose to the Skins in the playoffs in ’93. But, then again, they spawned THE BILLICK.

or was that ’91. i remember Allen getting shut down pretty good.
