Foxworth and Secondary Getting Beat Up

I happened to be interested in what people are saying at Cincy Jungle more than usual this week because of the disappointing loss on Sunday and it was funny to run into a post about our secondary issues. They posted an article written by Mike Preston today which bashed our corners and even went as far as saying a pretty negative statement about Carr and Foxworth's contracts stating, "It might be time to ask for a refund or rebate." He goes on to say some other eyebrow raising things after that about the defense and the game against the Bengals as a whole. I know some here don't particularly like Preston's material but I actually enjoyed reading this article compared to some of his more grumpy ones in the past. It was sort of thought provoking and made some sense of the some what fall out that our defense and offense seems to be going through, especially with defensive penalties. I liked this quote also by Rey Maualuga, "We had to do what New England did last week and make them one-dimensional." Story of the game. Even though it has been said before any more thoughts on Foxworth, our defense, and more so this article would be nice to read. Thanks

I've met Preston and he's a cool guy.

I’m not the biggest fan of his writing, but based on what I have read and my limited conversations with him, he does know his football. And I agree with him on our corners. I honestly don’t think you could play much worse than that even if your shoelaces were tied together.

"I know where you're at, man. You had it all, and now it's gone. It's torn a hole in your soul bigger than my Escalade. So you turned to the drugs, the alcohol. Pornography, free-basing with OJ, human trafficking, dog fights slash orgies... darkness."

I like Preston. He gets it and isn’t affraid to sacrifice a generic locker room interview for the truth. I wouldn’t be to harsh on the DB’s though. It’s the offense that has left it on the table the past 2 weeks. We controlled the Pats and Bengals on O for the most part. If Ray and Franky had half a brain we would have won.

I don't agree

Pretty much everyone at the Sunpapers is on a tight leash by the higher-ups. They can only say so much on their own and in their writing, regardless how independent they say they are. Try bad mouthing them in public and see how the clique jumps at you!

However, I will say the DBs haven’t done their job but the games are still won in the trenches and if the front seven got the necessary pressure, we’d be willing to accept their capabilities.

I’ll take McAlister back. Plus, we need to remember that Samari is still out. Get him back and I think Foxworth loses his job. If he comes back….

Limp and dangling.
