Ed Reed = Unanimous All Pro

Ed Reed was the only unanimous selection as the All Pro free safety. The players selected to the Pro Bowl represent their conference, either the AFC or NFC. The All Pro honor is for being the best at your position in the combined group of all Pro Bowl players from both conferences. It takes 50 votes to be unanimous, which Reed received. Albert Haynesworth of the Titans received 49 votes and one or two others received 48 votes.

Congrats to Ed for the well deserved recognition!

I’d like to accept this award on Ed’s behalf. He could not be here tonight due to some light work in Tennessee. Here’s a few written words: The man upstairs made it all possible first off. Mamma and Pops. I’d like to thank Pac Man and Plexico for showing me how not to fire guns near or in strip joints. I’d like to thank my barber for keeping my beard loose and shaggy..the way I like it. Oh Suga’. Lastly, I’d like to thank Rexx for showing up in Miami with the battle shirt..even though he sat on his hands because of the bullies in his section. Bless you all and good night.

I think we all know who the real best defensive player this year was.

I think he probably deserved MVP consideration too.

be real

look i love the ravens just as much as you but let’s be real.

Ed Reed showed up for the final portion of the season but it is called the Defensive Player of the YEAR

Ed did not amaze anybody until the last few games while Steelers linebacker Harrison has been lights out all year while getting held every game, so i hear and see.

We can’t take credit away when credit is deserved and if Ed had better stats all throughout the year he would have my vote.

GO RAVENS!

Peyton Manning didnt show until the 7 game in to the season, should he have gottin MVP. Thats a year round award also. Ed Reed is the best PLAYER in the league right know. He may not have showed up until the final portion of the season, but that final portion was better then most people full year. If I had to give the award to someone not Ed Reed, it would have to be DeMarcus Ware. He had a better season then Harrison did. I believe Ed will get the GMC defensive MVP and will be the true winner.

FEAR THE NEVERMORE DEFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Demarcus ware had more sacks,

James Harrison had more turnovers, leading the league with seven forced fumbles, he also had two interceptions, had 30 tackles more, and played on kick coverage teams.

I think Ed Reed was a good number two to Harrison. The guy came on strong at the end of the season. If Ed could tackle as well as Troy P, he’d be the best Safety in the NFL, instead of just the best Free Safety.

at an autograph signing back in 95. He walked out in front of our minivan, and my mom almost hit him. He apologized.

No one player dominates his position the way Ed Reed does

Peyton Manning deserved his MVP because he was the most valuable over the year as a whole, not the second half or part of it. Ed Reed was the best defensive player over the course of the entire season. Sure, Harrison, Ware and even Woodley had great years and you could argue for any one of them. However, no player in the ENTIRE league had the effect and ability to change the game so much more than ANYONE else who played the position and pretty much more so than anyone at any position. He should have been a runaway defensive MVP winner and should have garnered serious MVP votes. HOwever, they have the voting even before the regular season is over, much less the playoffs!

Rexx

Actually one player does; Troy Polomoulu!

Ed Reed is the best Free Safety in the league, hands-down.
41 Tackles, 9 interceptions
Troy Polomoulu is the best Safety in the league, hands down!
73 Tackles, 7 interceptions

A free safety will take the over coverage more often, and get more INTs, but a strong safety will be called upon more for run support, both will get tight end duties.

Based on the numbers Troy held up his end by a strong margin.

Reed scored more toughdowns on his own, as the refs chose to steal Troy’s.

I still say the number of times they call your name.

the less attention our players get the cheaper they are to sign the more cap room we have…we know their great but it’s fine by me if it’s kept on the down low.
