I think we are all pretty familiar with all of the things going around this game at this point, so I won't go into some long post about it. Say whatever you want, but one thing is for sure, this is going to be a slobber-knocking game that both teams will be feeling for days after it is over.
So anyway, leave any questions you have below.

Thanks for coming over Jim. Will the Titan’s lay-off effect their play? It’s been quite a while since they played a meanigful down. That could spell trouble for a quarter or two. I can’t see too much changing in your running game from the last time. Chris is the better runner against a fast D and he didn’t fair very well last time. I expect him to get more screens/passes than usual. I think the X factors will be Collin’s not turning it over and your blind side pass rush. Miami produced very little pressure and Joe had a lot of time to make some nice throws on key downs. He also missed some open deep balls. What are your “X” factors?

The layoff will really help the Titans
because it gave Albert and KVB time to get healthy. The defense proved they can hold their own without them, but they are a whole lot better with them.
Take care of the ball. Same as with the Ravens. This game will more than likely be decided in the turnover column.

The Ravens have improved in nearly every aspect of the game since we played last. Our defense is hitting harder and is playing more opportunistically, our offensive line has gelled, and our punter Koch is helping us dominate the field-position battle. But more importantly than any of that, Joe Flacco has matured into a solid QB over the season. He’ll make all the throws we need him to make to keep our drives alive, and he isn’t afraid to air it out. Tennessee just barely eked out a win last time. How do the Titans adjust to limit our improved passing game while, at the same time, not letting us run all over them? In other words, how effective do you think they will be at stopping our offense?

I would say pretty effective.
Go look at the Titans’ defensive numbers. They are decent on that side of the ball.

That’s it? The Titans are decent on that side of the ball, so we should just pack it in? No insight as to how an improved offense is going to match up against the same defense we saw months ago? Flacco rolled out and gift-wrapped a couple of interceptions for you guys last time. I think it’s fair to say that he won’t be doing that over and over again this time. Without two easy interceptions from a green quarterback, how do the Titans stay in the game?
This is starting to feel a lot like the conversations with the Dolphans. No supporting argument; just a lot of “we have this” and “we have that” and “ya’ll have no chance.” I’ll be honest. I like the Ravens’ chances here. We run the ball better than the Titans. We play defense better than the Titans. Flacco is going to be the X-factor this weekend. Either he pulls it off or he doesn’t; nobody has any idea whether he’s going to be the deal maker or the game breaker. If he plays well, we have this in the bag. If not, it’ll be a close game, just like last time.

Where did I say you didn't have a chance?
I have never said that here, on MCM, or to anyone that I have talked to this week, but I don’t see why the Titans would fear your offense. Flacco has been better, but he hasn’t exactly be setting the world on fire. You know as well as I do that this is going to be a defensive battle.
Let me flip the question; What has your offense done that should make the Titans fear them? You can run the ball, but the Titans are pretty good at stopping the run. If Flacco beats us, I will tip my cap to him. I just don’t think it will happen.

neither did the Dolphins. While his stats didn’t look that good, he made the third down and other key throws and certainly outplayed the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year, Chad Pennington.

He didn't need to win it
There’s never been an argument about that. He isn’t asked to do that game after game, and neither is Collins. If either of them is put in that position, it will probably mean a loss. That has and continues to be the Ravens mantra. The encouraging news is that while Flacco will continue to improve, Collins is at or on his way down from his highest level of performance.

Im interested too know your opinion on the way the Titans played the Steelers and was dominance only a factor or do you believe they also caught them on a bad day? Also, how would you rate your guy’s o-line this year since they did a great job in that game and really for most of the year?

The Titans took advantage
of how bad the Steelers offensive line is. They forced Big Ben to put the ball on the ground a lot. That is the big advantage either of these teams should have over the Steelers.
The O line is excellent in pass protection and good in run blocking. Collins has only been sacked 8 times this year, and he isn’t exactly Vince Young back there. The running numbers look good, but there are a couple of games that skew those stats a little. There have been a few games (i.e. the first game with your team) that the Titans couldn’t run the ball at all.

No surprise, I think the key to the game is Baltimore running and grinding out first downs. Keep Flacco out of high pressure downs and control the clock (and field position). What is the state of Haynesworth’s injury (MCL)? Vanden Bosch has also been injured. Any recent word on whether these guys will really be ready? I expect the Ravens to pound away early to see if they are up to stopping the run, and definitely to wear them down by the later quarters.

have practiced already and should be good to go. It is no doubt going to be a game with both teams doing their best to wear the other one down.

i see the Titans attacking the ravens with short passes to keep the LBs off balance. i say it too much on here but sending 2 TE’s or receivers out in short crossing patterns/slants seems to work against our D (or works better than other places on the field). We should stop the run, deep balls and screens but the pass action short center with the receivers streaking in front of or just behind the LB’s towards the sidelines has been a decent way to move the ball against us.
your pass protection has been great and with a vet qb that only adds to this strength. but, with having only allowed 8 sacks i would think your Passing O would have a hire rating. what’s not happening in your passing game that is keeping the stats sown?

A few questions...
It looks like Kevin Mawae will not play on Sunday. The Ravens have done a good job of covering injuries with good depth at the O line. Between Pryce, Ngata, Bannan and company, the Ravens did a good job of owning the line of scrimmage last week. How good will Kevin Mawae’s replacement be and has he played much this year?
Now on to fan questions…
How do the Titans fans feel about the call against Suggs last game?
The call sucked but the Ravens DE still had their chance to win the game, but as a fan, it pisses you off. It reminded me a lot of the Patriots game last year when the DE gave up the losing TD from Tom Brady.
What is the stadium experience going to be for those of us that are making the trip? Anything you recommend or do not recommend? Good local food?

Leroy Harris is Mawae's replacement
He had not played at all pretty much in his career until Mawae got hurt against Pitt. Harris is probably a better player physically at this point, but Mawae’s veteran presence will be missed.
It is hard to say what the experience will be like. LP used to be one of the toughest places to play in the league, but just a few weeks ago it looked like Heinz Field. Hopefully that will not be the case this time around.
There is a place right across the street from the stadium called the Gerst Haus that is excellent. My personal favorite downtown restaurant is Demos’ on 2nd avenue. Great food at and very reasonably priced.

Go to Baltimore's WNST radio station

Missed the Suggs call question
Sorry….It was a crappy call no doubt. Of course I was OK with it because it helped the Titans out, but I hate that you see that kind of crap called in the NFL today. Hopefully there won’t be a call that is that important in determining the outcome of this game.

More on Haynesworht and KVB
I’m not too sure what the layoff will mean to them and the Titans. Both missed significant time andthe lack of game contact leaves me guessing on how effective they can be. Their reserves played pretty darn good against the Steelers, so it might be a mute point, but the Ravens o-line is much better than Pittsburgh’s. I’ve also heard that even with Kevin Mawae out, his replacement might be more physical than him anyway. So, any concerns about the trenches, which have become the Ravens strong points, as the sacks allowed totals are deceiving for flacco, as most of his mistakes (sacks, INT’s came in the first half of the season.

8 of the 18 you are referring to came in our last 2 games of the season. Both wins over the Cowboys and Jaguars.
Stats are what they are but I think what Rex is trying to say is that both Flacco and the line are playing drastically better than the first 4 weeks of the season.
In the Steelers game we saw Flacco get pressured and it cost the game. In the Titans game, we saw Flacco make 2 rookie throws going across the grain while scrambling out of the pocket. Now, we see him hang in the pocket and take the hit if necessary like the Cowboy game, and we saw in the Dolphin game several times where he could have tried to impossible throws but instead threw the ball away. We also see the line coming together better than ever and not letting the AFC leader in sacks Joey Porter even touch Flacco.
In the second half of the season, when it counts, we are 9 and 2. (starting with week 8 til now)

and this is based on how they are playing NOW. Both Haynesworth and KVB are excellent players and are probably better than most players, coming off injuries or not. However, based on how they’re playing NOW, I’ll stick w/ our guys. We can agree to disagree andit’s good to know we’re both happy w/ our guys!

Question about off the field crap...
What is the deal with Vince Young? What I mean is, how did the fan base respond to his “incident”? What the hell happened in the first place? Do the fans and the team still view him as the QB of the future or has his past behavior limited expectations.

Without asking you to go to into it to much....
Is he the QB of the future for the Titans. And if you wouldn’t mind…what is the view of the typical Titans fan (assuming you represent one) of the entire fiasco? Seriously..you think we are going to run out of space here or what? I would really like a local’s input. Naturally I have learn as a Raven’s fan to ignore the crap they say on ESPN. Being a fan of Ray Lewis and seeing how they feed on ruining a guy rather than portraying the truth, I would like to hear your input.

Here goes
“Is he the QB of the future?”
That is very much up in the air right now. My gut says no, but he will get a chance to win the position again in camp next year. If he doesn’t have that winning attitude that he did in college and his first year in the NFL, he won’t ever make it. He is not going to get by on QB skills alone.
“What did we think of the whole fiasco?”
Well it started with the rumor that he didn’t want to go back in the game week 1. That has never been confirmed by anyone, but everyone who saw what happened and isn’t an employee of the organization agrees that Fisher pretty much had to make him go back in the game. I have no tolerance for that.
The whole thing that happened the next night is still up for speculation as well. The police report said Fisher called the police and was worried that Vince was going to kill himself. There is even something in there about Vince driving around the parking lot at LP with a gun. Who knows how much of that is true. Fisher and Vince both said in the following days that it got blown out of proportion.
Personally, I really hope he can re-capture some of the magic he had his rookie year. A lot is going to have to change for him to be that player again.

The way Fisher handled it....
I can’t honestly imagine it handled better. Like I mentioned it earlier, other than the McNair situation, Fisher (as the face of the organization) has a lot of my respect. . As an outsider, it is kind of a bizarre situation where a guy with a tremendous talent just does not seem to have his head together. It kind of reminds me, not saying that Vince Young has done anything criminal, of Michael Vick. What I mean is that he has a lot of talent, I don’t think anyone would disagree, but he didn’t seem to make the right choices. I will be the first one to admit that its me but after a tour for Iraq and Afghanistan, I ended up with too many friends that took their own lives. So I guess you could say its something that tends to freak me out. Aside from playing football, is the kid okay? We as fans tend to look at these players kind of superheros and we forget that they are people with the same weaknesses and fears that we have. I don’t want to sound like some asshole that is picking at a wound or something but again…I kind of get frustrated at seeing situations where people need help and they don’t get it….Man…sorry….I am a downer here. I really look forward to a great game between the two teams.

I think most of us felt
very similar after the whole thing happened. We were all more concerned for his well being as a person that what he could give us on the football field. Hopefully the time to sit and watch has helped in the aspect.
I think the biggest thing for him is that he has been worshiped his whole life. At Texas Mack Brown changed the offense to fit Vince because he wasn’t playing well in the offense they had at the time. Fisher isn’t going to do that, and I think that came as a shock to Vince.
Hopefully as time goes by he will understand what it takes to be a professional athlete mentally.
