One of the Best Hits Ever

While it didn't take place in an NFL game, it did take place this weekend at College Park, Maryland, where the Terps upset then number 23rd ranked University of California 35-27. In that game, Terp defensive back Kevin Barnes literally caused Cal star running back Jahvid Best to lose his lunch right on the field. Barnes arrived a split second after the ball and the ensuing crunch could be heard throughout the stadium. Watch closely at the end of the clip to see the poor Cal RB give a new meaning to the all important stat known as "YAC!"

I was at the Game

It was the best hit I’ve seen live, and fired up an already rowdy crowd beyond belief. Barnes is by far UMD’s best DB and if he grades out well, I would not be surprised at all to see him on a NFL roster next year.

A lot of videos...

…on YouTube, showing the hit and of course, the aftermath. I wonder, do you think he had split pea soup for lunch at his pre-game meal?
