Ravens Cant Get Deal Done With Suggs
This was the last day the Ravens could sign LB/DE Terrell Suggs to a long term deal. They have been working on a deal since april but the two sides could not agree on a extension. The Ravens will have to wait until the end of the season before they can resume talks. On the bright side, We have him for at least 1 more year and also, it's a contract year. Look for suggs to have a all out season as this could be a chance for him to make more bucks. Rather that be with the Ravens or another team(hopefully us)
The opinions posted here are those of the administrator of this blog and his loyal readers. They are in no way official comments from the team, and should not be misconstued as such, even though he thinks he could do just as well or even a better job!

i would hate to see him go
filling in terrels suggs’ spot on the team will not be easy. he is one of the best pass rushers in the leauge. Maybe Antwan Barnes can even be better. I think he might be a better coverage backer than Suggs(he looked good covering heap at times in minicamp), we all know he is fast, maybe the faster linebacker in the nfl. All we need is for him to have the type of season everyone expects him to have. Lets jut hope so, But thats not even the issue, the issue is if we had suggs and barnes that would be a monster of a speed rushing tandem. just think of the amount of sacks we would have if we had Suggs, Barnes, and Bart Scott. man i feel bad for oposing quarterbacks. man its gonna be a great year if we can stay healthy. The ravens organization have a lot of people to sign. Ray lewis, Bart Scott. just to name a few. i hope they sign Bart i really like him. You know they are gonna sign Ray lewis. But is there gonna be enough money for everyone else? Although Suggs was never much of a Coverage linebacker, i think he is still good, and worth signing to a long term deal. Or maybe he will turn out like other ravens defencive free agants, who are only good in baltimore. If we have all of our players healthy i predict 60+ sacks next year. which also leads to picks so i also predict 20+ picks.
1.Cmac( chris mcalister)=5+ picks( he can shut you down, but he never was the cromatie 10 pick guy even though he is better than cromatie )
2.Reed= 7+ picks( no questions its almost as sure as death)
3.Ray=3 picks ( happens almost each year)
4.Bart =2 ( he will have 2 picks to compliment his 7+ sack season)
5.Dawan=4( get back to his rokie form)
6.Fabian=5+( will be reborn in Baltimore)
7.Samari=2 or 3( his production will reduce. but i feel sorry for #3 recievers shutdown)

i hope we resign him also. he is one of the best pass rusher in da league and i also agree that this ravens defense will be more like the 2006 ravens.

It's going to cost us...
...a lot more after he has a monster season w/ 10+ sacks. Don’t forget the other reserves, including the rookies Zbikowski (ND) and Nakamura (Cincinnati), who might get some playing time as well. If healthy, look out, as Ray will want to go out w/ a bang and T-Sizzle will want to earn a mega deal!

Can't we still sign him this year?
I don’t think the past deadline prevents us from signing a deal.

We'll just have to wait...
...until the season is over, according to league rules. We may have to pay a little bit more, and of course, he could choose to go home to Arizona, but then again, why would he?
