Unsung Heroes of the season.

  • fabian Washington: no one talks about this guy, but has been playing lights out lately, and if he wasn't here, can you imagine Frank walker, or corey starting? this guy has played his heart out, and he played well against Washington, He and Samari are making one heck of a tandem, and Samari is very underrated, NO CB IN THE LEAUGE IS PLAYING BETTER FOOTBALL THAN SAMARI ROLLE!!.
  • Jim Leonhard: he steped in, and played great for Dawan landry who i thought given just another year would be one of the top safeties in the NFL. Its like having two free safeties out there, Leonhard can cover, and he has great instincs, plays great zone. He is a good high safety as well, and has good range, not as good as #20 though

  • Willie Anderson: This guy may be the single biggest offseason aquisition, and has saved us a lot of headaches....He steped in well for Terry, is a good football player nuff said.
  • LeRoN "big baby" McClain. Isn't this guy a fullback?!?! are fullbacks suppose to lead a team in rushing?!? this guy is special for his size, he reminds me of a Jerome Bettis. If it wasn't for him we would be in trouble. I refuse to believe that Ray Rice could carry all the load for us, and be as effective as we are right now. we Got to get this guy a nickname, mine sucks..lol

All In all This has been a great season, and showed how much depth we really have, its great to see all this guy step up. GO RAVENS!!

Leron "The Train" McClain

I think that works, he is a tough one to stop. I do like the fact of Big Baby, cause he does have that baby face. But no Baby names in Football. The man is a TRAIN!

Yea, I like what Leonhard is doing. He isnt getting talked about at all for what he has done for this team, but at least he isnt getting talked about for giving up 30-40 yard big plays every time. The man is just doing his job.

Think about our nickel and dime packages next year! We get Dawan Landry back at SS, draft a cornerback or two, damn that will be a hell of a package. Leonhard coming in as a nickel and dime player along with Zbi and Ruki, with a first or 2nd round CB. Going to be fun.

Sam "The Punter" Koch

He is easily the best player on Special Teams. Its a lot easier to win the field position and time of possession battles when we have a punter that is more accurate than some quarterbacks in the league, and consistently puts opposing teams inside their 20. When is the last time he has shanked a punt?

"When they get drafted by the Baltimore Ravens, we expect them to play like that. Are we surprised? No."

Dont let Cleveland fans see that

Big Baby was the nickname for Shaun Rodgers

No Worries

Guys who are on playoff caliber teams get nickname priority over dudes on scrub teams. If your team can’t win six games, then you don’t deserve a nickname.

Truthfully, I am more partial toward LeRon “Night Train” McClain

Jarret Johnson

The “forgotten” linebacker on the team. He has stepped into AD’s role and has been a major factor in disrupting offenses. He was the only two time captain of Alabama’s football team, was a d-lineman before coming here and has had a great statistical season. He will also become our #2 LB next year after Bart goes elsewhere, not counting Suggs as a LB. He has been great!!

he is finally getting the attention he desereves

People are talking about him, and so therefore he isn’t an unsung hero, he is just a hero, lol.

I think JJ will stay where he is.

I see our rookie from the Univ. of Miami, Tavares Gooden taking over Bart’s position. Ray Lewis loves what Gooden represents as a player and a member of the Miami Family. JJ is doing a great job where he is and if he moved, I do not think there is another player on our team to take his position. He plays the most athletic position in our linebacking scheme and is playing it very well.

We also need to give a part of this award to LB Jameel McClain. Two safeties, a punt block, and partially blocked a punt sunday night against Wash. He is becoming a very quiet linebacker, but is causing havoc in the faces of the people he faces. We breed the best linebackers.

Jameel

might end up being the real McClain. He is a beast and although undrafted, has done great. Between him and Tavares Gooden, and whomever we draft, we’ll be fine at LB next season without Bart.

Dont forget about Antwan Branes

The Ravens were talking about this guy replacing T-sizzle if they decided to release him. Branes is one of our best pass rushers and i believed that he would take Johnson spot as a starter for a while. Im glad J.J. has stepped it up, but Branes is still a beast and is a oppostion if the Ravens decided to release Suggs and go after a WR or CB in FA

What antwan Barnes have you been watching?

the guy as really regressed he was suppose to have a great season this year, but he just has been stinking it up lately…he got deactivated for two games, because he wasn’t playing good, McClain has out played him.

by RAVEN'SD#1 on Dec 9, 2008 7:55 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I never said McClain didn't

Im just metioning a guy that no one else did. All im saying is that Baltimore have young LB that we will use in the future and Branes is one of them. Your right tho, McClain has performed better then Branes.

Yea your right.

We always produce really good LBs, i think it may have something to do with 52.

Suggs ain't going anywhere

The drunk guy behind me at the Redskins game kept on saying we should trade Suggs for Anquan Boldin. I said no GM would trade a star defensive player who plays every down for a WR that gets 6-8 touches a game. Suggs is way too valuable to this defense to trade or let go.

Amen 2 Dat!!

Suggs is gonna finish his career as a raven, you can bank on it, he is a star, and a dominant one at that did you see what he did to chris Samuel!?!?!? Chris Samuel is a pro bowler, and one of the best tackles in the game, Suggs man handled him like a little rag doll.

Hey Rexx

Dont talk about my uncle that way! just kidding, but, in the begining of the season, alot of our guys at this site said we should make that trade. Boldin would have been a great pick up for us even with the lost of suggs. Both are having great years and both havent even reahced their prime yet. I believe we will get ourseleves a superstar reciever in the upcoming draft. A guy a really like is Jeremy Maclin. If will be very dissapointed if he drops to us and we dont snag him up. Just look at what this guy can do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wzrltr66LqI

We dont Nessassarily need a big 6’4 reciever. We just need a guy who plays big. I would rather have a guy like Jeremy Maclin who is 6’ and plays like he is 6’4. He also has the speed to get down the field and make gamebreaking plays. Look at Steve Smith. The guy is 5’9 5’10 and he always wins a jumpbal contest. Dont get me wrong tho, i would also like to recieve a big target that Flacco can get down the field, but if we have a chance to get Jeremy, we should take him.

New nick name for Todd Heap:

Todd “Clock Stop” Heap..because his best move after a catch is into the first tackler and out of bounds…….but i like Toodddd and Mrs. Loobner.

Proven best mix for receivers- 2 minis and one mighty. Excuse the Skins reference but Gary Clark, Charlie Brown and Art Mink were open all day every day. It was all receiver because they had an older Doug Williams, Mark Rypien and Shroeder passing to them. We’ve got the minis….

yeah, Art Mink was great too LOL…..MONK

I want a big wideout

I now some of the smaller guys play big, but I want a big, fast man with great hands and huge guns! Did I just say that? Please understand I’m talking about a football wide receiver and no obnoxious comments. On further review, I deserve what you bring.
