11 pm on November 4th, I have just found out that the Raiders are likely to release Deangelo Hall. WE NEED TO GET HIM RIGHT NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

regardless of being injured Cmac & Rolle would not like that. Thats a slap in the face that one of them wouldnt be coming back the next season. We’d have THREE number 1 corners, (even if only one was playing at the moment)

We are hurtingggg at corner!

They shouldnt take it personal, CMac should know that he is 30+ right now and is hurting our team more than helping it with being injured so much, along with Rolle, who is now 33. Linebacker and DL is one thing to play past the age of 30, but for a corner, these Wideouts in their early and mid 20’s are just to fast and agile for CMac and Rolle SOMETIMES, key word there fellas. Yes, they both make our defense better, but them both being out hurts us so much more.

We have been in a way very lucky to have won the dolphins and browns game, because both of those offenses moved the ball through the air very well against us. Even without signing Hall, which would be one of the worst moves I think this franchise could make, I do not see either CMac or Rolle being Ravens next year, one of them might have to be let go, and if CMac gets on IR this year, I do not see a use for him. IF we are going to make a run at the “P” word, do you all trust Fabian and Samari to shut down the likes of the Colts? Hell even Pittsburgh could burn us deep, seems to happen a lot when they are not in there.

Hall is only 24 years old, he is one of the fastest players int the NFL, and so what if CMac and Rolle do not like it, We have terrible depth at Corner right now. Would it be a slap in the face if we didnt sign Hall and drafted a Corner in the 1st round of the 2009 NFL Draft? Cause that is definitely a very high possibility. CMac doesnt come back this season, boom, we line up Hall and Samari (If he comes back to) at the corners, and put Fabian and Walker where they were brought in here to play, the nickel.

Drafting a rookie is different, cuz a lot of times they like to have a veteran around to keep an eye on him and guide him along. Teach him the ropes.

As I said, picking up and established corner is like “yeah we dont really need you guys anymore.” I mean even if its true, its just not sportsman like.

I dont know, like I said before. I just dont see it happening, I doubt Harbaugh (or however you spell his name) and the staff are even looking at him

I still think it is just as much of an “Insult” as drafting a rookie. Even though I do not think it is an insult what so ever. These guys are getting old and seem to not be able to give us their time 100% because of injuries, and it is hurting our team very badly in a way. Hall has proven himself, and can come in and start right away. WHAT IF CMAC GOES ON IR? Then we might be kicking ourselves for not getting Hall. Samari has a neck injury, which can easily be re-injured. I just dont think that right now, it is good to have Corey Ivy or Evan Ogelsby as our main nickel back guys. That is why we brought Fabian and Frank in here, to play the nickel, and MAYBE have Fabian get some corner time. I just dont want to see this defense get beat because of the lack of depth we have at corner.

I agree.

Getting into the bidding war that is likely to ensue is very unlike Ozzie Newsome and (from what I have seen so far) John Harbaugh. I’m sure that Jerry Jones is already drooling over Hall. The Ravens won’t fight over him.

The Ravens will finish the season (barring any more major injuries) with their current roster and in all likelihood, will draft a CB in the first round next year. It is much, much better to build a team through the draft. Ozzie and John know this. They’ll do the right thing.

Hall has not looked good in 2008

However, beggers can’t be choosers. Hall is a fast corner and would only add depth to this hurting secondary. If everyone was healthy, we’d have great nickel and dime backs. Fact is, we’re not and probably won’t have everybody back for the rest of the season. Whether or not they come back, we’d be better off getting him for two reasons. First, he’d help us and second, signing him would prevent the other teams from getting him. In baseball, the damn Yankees always did shit like that, and so did the Red Sox.

Hall has been shit this year, one of the leagues most burned corners, and is a diva. If he doesn’t fit into Coaches team concept, then he doesn’t fit here. It might be another story if I thought we were one CB away from the Super Bowl, but were not. Were building something here long term. I don’t think DeAngelo Hall should be a part of it, no matter how kick ass he is in Madden. There is a reason he is looking at his third team already as a young, super talented corner. He’s got issues….

Also, we sign him and we might not be able to keep Ray or Suggs, or afford WR help. No Thanks

yeah…shelling out money on impulse has never worked for B-more. we’re a TEAM town and that should continue to be our chemistry..but i’m paniced by the DB situation. We’ll have more Colt games in our future if we don’t do something soon. We should spend SOME money with such a golden opportunity to win the division. We know we can hang with Tenn.. A couple of playoff wins and…….

As far as worrying about what Cmac and Rolle think, that shouldn’t matter in a TEAM sport. They should feel for those actually on the field every week working towards something. Rolle should understand because he’s a walking patient (and hasn’t exactly been shut down) and Cmac doesn’t have room to talk with his BS and injuries. Hall might just work for a season if we could get him to commit for that. I don’t think it would bother this team. Hall could also punt return, receive etc.. Interesting.

after reading all of your comments, I kind take back wanting to get him. I mean, he might help us, but DT711 made me realize he might cost too much if we want to resign suggs and ray. I dont know, a mixture of Obama winning last night and seeing that such an athlete like Hall was cut, my eyes just got WIDEEEEEEEEE. But i woudl still take him if think we can handle it. But yes, i bet jerry jones did a back flip when he found this out, just another great player, going to a organization full of great players that when together, make a terrible team.

I can see the intrigue, I just wouldn’t do it unless it was for cheap, making it low risk. I’m pretty confident MeAngelo is going to want the biggest dollars he can get.

HELL NO!!!

he sucks……he has to be the most overratted corner in the league. He bits on everything, and we already have a corner with all the speed in the world, but sh itty coverage skills.his name is fabian Washington!!!…. look we might not even be able to afford him anyway…We have a butt load of people to pay. Trust me, this is a bad move, Have you ever watched him play? he sucks. I got lots of falcons games, because of where i live, and i also get raiders game, he gets beat by everyone. He has given up the second most passing yards in the NFL….He has been thrown to 66 times, with a very high completion rate. Trust me this is a bad move.
