Not too early.

At least make it exciting for us 1-9-1 fans.

No promises Josh

I prefer not to stress out the fourth quarter for a change.

Nice "four" and out!

Good field position, let’s start it off with some early points, eh?

Horrible spot

Harbaugh needs to challenge that right now!

Finally!

We should win this and get the first down.

Giants score on opening drive against Skins

Eli Manning pass (7-0). Funny thin is they muffed the XP snap but the Skins didn’t rush so they reset it and Carney just waited and then kicked it through. See, you play every second on every down until the whistle blows!

Keep atacking up the middle with the bruiser

then hit the with Rice later on to run away from them!

Rexx

to me this is two down territory

why punt from there and we probably wouldn’t go for the FG, even w/ Haushka.

Cleveland leading Indy 3-0

Can’t believe I’m rooting for the Browns!? Won’t matter, as they’ll fold like the losers they are.

Clayton has become our deep threat without a doubt.

Shit, Gaither is hurt, again! Adam Terry is inactive so we can’t afford to lose him.

seven points might actually be enough for us today!

Ngata at fullback!?

I’d hate to be up front for the Bengals or have him bear down on a DB!

Rexx

We need to have the mindset

that we are getting seven here. Three would be better than nothing but would suck and be a moral victory for Cincy!

Rexx

by Rexx on Nov 30, 2008 1:48 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Poor playcalling that last series

They should have had a naked bootleg and then thrown it. They played for the FG and we’re afraid to open it up. Way too conservative. Disappointing!

Rexx

O-line not getting push

Cincy putting everyone on the line and blitzing every pass. Need a quick slant or hit over the middle!

Rexx

by Rexx on Nov 30, 2008 1:52 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

See, we move all over the field

but then they can have one big play and take the lead. That hurt and we need a TO to get the momentum back right now!

So far

the Bengals defense hasn’t had a moment of rest. They are playing tough, a lot tougher than I expected, but they are going to be gassed in the forth quarter. Despite the score, the Ravens are dominating.

"When they get drafted by the Baltimore Ravens, we expect them to play like that. Are we surprised? No."

by UMBC Oriole fan on Nov 30, 2008 1:58 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Very typical this season.

Bengals defense actually does play tough early in the game. But our offense is so terrible, that the defense wears out by the fourth quarter. I expect you guys to do the same thing you did in the first week and absolutely dominate midway through the third, and all of the fourth.

What's up with the Bengals secondary?

are they blanketing our receivers or are they just so unable to get open. Come on Todd Heap, move around!

Rexx

i think we are starting to get a little too predictable

leron is great, but dont use him twice every set of downs going right up the middle

it will get stopped

should have been play action there for a 5 yard pick up

by Mr MaLoR on Nov 30, 2008 2:00 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

my thoughts…o line weak..flacco rolling out too often..take a shot In the end zone (mason) inside the 10 1st and goal…play calling okay but o line not getting push…

we are waiting for them to get lucky on special teams and we’ll be down 7-6.

I think the idea

is to protect the ball, be conservative, and wait for the Ravens Defense to make a play.

Hasn't that been the idea

like, forever!?! I’m sure glad the offense got going, eventually. As they have proven in their wins, this isn’t your father’s Ravens.

Bengals offense (or Ravens defense from your POV)

19 plays, 20 yards (18 picked up on the first play of the game).
0/6 on third down.
One first down.
Six punts in the first half.
Five straight three-and-outs.

Rexx

by Rexx on Nov 30, 2008 2:33 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

shit needs to change..we dodged a bullet but in almost every game this year we go limp on a teams final play before half or game end. i pin it on ryan and soft zone..it aint broke dont change..a team can score in a minute with a prevent type d so unless theres 20 seconds on the clock it aint worth it..slow death or quick death it sucks and he keeps doing it.

by raven on Nov 30, 2008 2:36 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

redskins go for field goal with 9 seconds left on 3rd down…and miss..why do coaches consistantly put a game on the kickers foot….9 seconds and the previous play they ran gained 6 yards on 4 seconds and the giants were in prevent…coaches are dumped down and sissy this year……romeo, buffalo, skins…all put games on kickers foot and get burned. play to win the game-but 1/2 dont.

I think it is safe to say that we have the smallest amount of contributors on these blogs. We may have only 10-30 comments per fan post, but if you go in there and look at who is postings, it is the same 10-12 guys every time. I would rather talk with a select, intelligent few that we have at our blog rather than 200 random people blurting out how much they want Tim Couch back.

We are a family over there, you guys here are like the distant cousins who just had sex with each other’s wives and want to kill the other.

And the trash talk does something for me, to shut up the ones who have doubted us the whole season.

what i like best about today…you can set up big plays (like we did) or you can beat your head against a wall trying to go 3-8 yards at a clip all the way down the field..this method is best with the NFL’s fast agressive D’s.

Malor, you are our mercenary..look forward to a few playoff BAMS! ..might be the Raven motto..I’ll get t-shirts for my row that say BAM in purple if we get to the playoffs! The Purple BAM.

by raven on Nov 30, 2008 3:26 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Actually I was thinking of having some T-shirts made

for Baltimore Beatdown. I’d give you loyal posters complimentary ones. When I decide, I’ll get your sizes and addresses thru email. I’m thinking black with purple writing. Logo on pocket area and www.BaltimoreBeatdown.com across the upper back.

even better BAM….Redskins are a poorly O coached team and have gone way conservative over the past 3 weeks…we will clean their clock because Taylor has been exposed and Portis is hurting.

by raven on Nov 30, 2008 3:29 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

yes! the eyebrow for Natty Bo will have to be replaced with Joes. would you take TJ, Chad or Burris if you had to?

by raven on Nov 30, 2008 3:31 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

probably yes

Ray would keep them in line.

after seeing the drops by tj and chad, i dont really want them.

burris is a head case, he is not worth anything to me.

a positive frame of mind

here in Baltimore will make a huge difference in their production. Funny thin is, we may not even need them the way Clayton is playing!

by Rexx on Nov 30, 2008 3:37 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

one hit wonder much???

where has this kind of clayton been in most of the other games. still isnt the 6’3" WR that we desperately need

by Mr MaLoR on Nov 30, 2008 3:38 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

dont you love that we still have a full quarter to play

this is the time where i can finally sit back and relax, and wait for the behind the bench to hit baltimoreravens.com tomorrow night. love that shit

by Mr MaLoR on Nov 30, 2008 3:31 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

heap break a tackle..yeah right!!!

just don’t get why smith isn’t getting snaps when we are only an injury away with flacco..

i think the benching of mcgahee when he could be worked in just causes unecessary conflict…

by raven on Nov 30, 2008 3:38 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

i dont think it causes conflict at all.

he has had a rough season with injuries and we are winning without him right now. it isnt a shot at him, he needs to understand that he had his big games and mcclain and rice were basically useless.

Stopped on fourth down!

Both the Redskins and the Bills couldn’t make it on fourth down at almost the same time. Losers!

One minute left in Browns-Colts game

Indy leading 10-6 and Ken Dorsey QB for Browns. Uh, so much for DA playing the rest of the season for Quinn! Perhaps they’re right and Tim Couch should come back!

Rexx, my tickets are 4th row in section 121

You are a pansy for sittin up in the warm, nice, free food, free beer seats when the rest of us pay 8.50 for a bud light and 6 dollar cold hot dogs.

by Mr MaLoR on Nov 30, 2008 3:48 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

What are you talking about?

This is not the sky boxes, we have to overpay for food and drink just like you. It’s just we get the warmth to escape to during halftime and a great view of the game.

ok, well warmth is good enough, im jealous

but at least i get to feel the heat every time the flames go off during player intros, as i am about 20 feet away.

by raven on Nov 30, 2008 3:51 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I got the Pats

Even with the Steelers having the #1 defense, their corners are hurting and that Moss guy will make them pay. Of course, having Matt Cassel finally as my fantasy QB instead of Phil Rivers might only make Cassel suck and Rivers have a great game!

Colts win

and stay ahead of us in Wild Card race. See, we need to win the divsion title as if we get into the postseason as the final Wild Card we will have to go to the Jets or Steelers, while if we win the title, we may get a bye and if not, host the Jets, Pats or Steelers, which I like better.

Jim Leonhard for the TD

See you picked it, just not that early! Great call and good for him, as he has been great. Nice start Jordan Palmer!

by Rexx on Nov 30, 2008 3:53 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I actually like him better than Landry and have said so all season.

To me, as a 5’8" 200 pound safety, he reminds me of a white Bob Sanders. Sort of a stretch, huh?

Rexx

by Rexx on Nov 30, 2008 3:57 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

he isnt as sure of a tackler as sanders though, but still very good.

when dawan comes back, Jim will be a great option for many of our packages, as he has definitely earned it.

Leonhard is 5’ 8…never knew that…

Frank Walker is the ugliest guy on the team so, yeah, he should take what he can get on Special Team’s.

I watch a

post game interview between Leonard and Mark Viviano…I swear to god that annoying Mark guy was leaning over to talk to Leonard. Leonard was at chest height at most.

Great, great game, guys!

Shows we weren’t taking it lightly. Now we can focus on the next three games, one at a time and take over the AFC North lead after the Steelers lose next to NE and then home against Dallas and then to us and finally to Tennessee for their four game meltdown! Sweet!

Did anyone else

Notice Willie throwing a Bengal like a lawn dart during a running play? It was a beautiful block. Also I loved, I think it was Suggs, the Backup-backup Palmer getting introduced to the NFL and the importance of either going out of bounds or just sliding. Right after the hit, Palmer was on the ground trying to shake the feeling back into his right arm. While the first half seemed to be really slow on offense, I think it was a perfect way to prevent any mistakes on offense allowing the Bengals to have any hope. I really feel sorry for their fan base and their defense. The Bengal organization is in chaos and its a shame to see a team with so much potential have no depth and fall apart so completely due to injuries. In a league of such parity, depth at every position is so critical. 1/3 of our team is out and we still are able to perform at a level none of us predicted. Ozzie is one of the best GMs in the league. What a season!!!

Can anyone tell me what those things are on the 50 yard line, near the sidelines, on each side?

They are like these gray prongs with some yellow thing coming out of them. I never knew what they were and I always wonder it when ever I watch the pats games.

by Mr MaLoR on Nov 30, 2008 4:34 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Somebody answer this question!

I’ve been debating what those things are for way too long with different friends o mine.

by robgoose on Nov 30, 2008 6:00 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Yea man.

I can never figure out what the hell they could be! I always looked at it and thought it was that thing your doctor uses to test your reflexes on your knees. That is the best I could think of. But I dont know what the yellow coming off of it is.

I heard the answer once, but I forgot!

Anyone else out there know?
